Yes there are but not many where the disparity is so great and that their wages are basically paid for by the public. How many companies of lets say 400 employees are there where about 8% of the staff earn an average of over £3m a year and the rest earn lets say a generous £40k a year? Do you think it's unreasonable to ask the 8% to survive on lets say £2.5m for just this year so the other 92% can keep working? Or do you fully support the government subsiding football clubs?

Do you think the government should be subsiding football clubs?

The players will argue they have fitness programs to stick too so are keeping fit so still working, effectively working from home. It's more the moral issue here. CLubs and players have had their snouts in the trough for years earning ridiculous sums for not very much, milking every penny out of of fans. It time to give something back.

I actually find it staggering that players are being encouraged not to take pay cuts meanwhile premier league clubs paying players £80,£90, £100k a week are putting back office staff earning a third of that a year on furlough and clubs down the pyramid are close to going out of business. The peoples game yet again proving it's anything but.

And it's always consistent about Liverpool too, it's never their fault
-
And the press will love it and laud all those amazing fans of this special club who RISKED DEATH so they could share this great moment in football history

Crabby is feeling better, welcome back

When we lived in Southampton used to go there a lot. Live in Yorkshire now and are very fortunate to have a top notch independent butcher, green grocer and fishmonger within 5 minutes of us. All the meat and and veg are from within 10 miles of where we live. The fishmonger is great, a few months back he showed me the difference between a farmer fish and a naturally caught one, difference in the size and brightness of the skin is incredible. I never go to supermarkets now for any of that stuff. Pay a bit more but the quality is a different level.

Didn’t olly Lancashire start a few early on too? And Lloyd James was our right back until we brought John Otsemebor in on loan from Norwich

Papa Waigo was over rated he was okay but I remember some of our more special fans claiming that he was offside a lot because he was so good the other players couldn’t pick out his runs. They later said the same about Tanadari Lee. It was also a period when many of our fans claimed this saints team would beat the England national team and we were on an unstoppable match to the champions league. Great days though and what a few years to be a saints fan.

Yet another hypocrite. Nice tits though.

the maximum £2,500 wouldn't cover too much of the average £61k premier league wage. to be blunt if clubs even tried it it'd be a disgrace. For their non football staff then more understandable, surely they should follow Leeds example first though.

Just had a look at that, it looks good. I've signed up. THanks!

Glad you are on the mend sir, good to hear. Stay safe.

Half way through series one, excellent stuff.

you could go through your collection of saints shirts and reminisce about which year the boycott was from.

Dont worry MLG, you're not at risk, no one would go within a mile of you.

Im getting mixed stories on this. My wife will be furloughed on tuesday at the end of the month. She works for a electrical company all their jobs have been cancelled until further notice so the owner has basically shut down the business until this ends. Some people are saying shes okay others aren't as hes just effectively asking her to take an extended break.
-
Okay cheers, thought it sounded a bit far fetched.

Yes that gutting, my local team is Harrogate Town, i go there are fair bit now. They are having their best ever season, 2nd in the conference 3 points behind top with them to play at home in a few weeks and in the semi final of the FA Trophy. The double was most definitely on and promotion to L2 would be incredible. It is the right thing to do though.

multiply that by a few thousand and it would make a difference though wouldnt it.
