Will be such a blow of Clyne is out as we have nobody who can give the same levelnof performance as him in that role, so hooefully he will be fine. Not the game to play McCarthy if Targett is making a first league start too. If Clyne can't play I would change the system, play Yoshida and Fonte with Toby at right back and then bring Tadic back into the front three. Zero chance of Pelle being dropped and rightly so. He is our only genuine goalscorer, has started every league game and was subbed to rest him up for this game.

Great example against Everton where he had Distin one vs one, knocked it past him but hit it way too far in front and Jagielka came across to clear for a throw when Long with a reasonable touch would have had a shot on goal. Agree you can find damning stats on any player but also any good player has some key stats in his favour. Does Long?

Out of interest, if 28 yo Long is good value at 12m how what would people estimate Jay Rod to be worth? http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zbbp_h234eU Was looking through his goals from last season the other day and as well as being fast and hassling defences, he is a class footballer, very good finisher with a great attitude and scored something like 18 goals last season. Many of which Long isnt good enough to score IMO. At 24/25 if Long (28) is £12m then Jay Rod must be £25m plus?.
