We still haven't IMO replaced Lallana. Tadic is a completely different player. Lallana connected the whole of our attackin game. We are absolutely desparate for another attacking player with a bit of composure or quality in the final third. If we get really stuck surely we could loan Amalfitano who was on loan at WBA last year and was good in quite a few games.

Sunderland have bid for van Dijk. We must have preferred Gardos, or needed someone in sooner so got him.

5 days to go and we are still shopping for much required players rather than nice to haves. Still too much uncertainty on outgoings. Yet Mallgroth came up with the "Is this the best ever transfer window?" thread. Madness.

Ricky Alvarez from Inter to Sunderland. Decent attacking option for a direct rival.

Incredible also that in one window we could easily have sold Lambert, Lallana, Shaw, Lovren, Chambers, Osvaldo, Boruc, Cork, Ramirez and Hooiveld. Thats without mentioning Guly and Sharp. Before long there will be very few survivors from the Cortese era....which is probably the plan.

If replaced it could be a good deal. But if not its utterly pointless. We only have one genuinely creative player. Failure to add to Tadic could easily result in relegation.

Will the last creative player turn out the light.

Will we have any creative players apart from Tadic? Going to be a very tough season if the winger signing isnt an excellent player.

Would be pretty dumb to let Ramirez go. We needed another attacking player anyway, so now would need two. We always appear to be moving forward, and then regress, which is what loaning out Ramirez and selling Cork would be doing. Can't help from a cynical view but thinking the board will be very happy that they have removed some very big earners from the wage bill and replaced with players on far less.

Its the Chapel fans that worry me. The same ones that goaded Boruc and ensured he wasnt picked for a couple of months despite being clearly our best keeper. That section of the ground, behind that goal drags the support level down IMO.

He was a regular starter last season despite not figuring much at the start. One injury and he would probably get in. From his point of view, he wants to stay, as he has said before. It is the club who havent offered him a contract, so they are somewhat taking the decision out of Cork's hands, which is bizarre.

So if he can't play CL with Celtic then how could he at Saints?

Long needs to improve. Long won't improve because he is what he is and we must have known that when we got him. What he certainly isn't is a wide player.

Nope. Just that lots usually has to fall in place to sign a player and expecting to sign one isnt the same as will sign.

After the Brighton game he said he hoped to sign two or three over the weekend and we signed one (Taider) about a week later. Surely this one will be a wide player.

Better second half and good for Pelle to get a goal. He got in four or five goalscoring positions which is a better sign. Still quite hard to know what formation or style we were playing.

Its not him thats picking them all. He is a 4-3-3 Manager but doesnt have the tools.

We have wasted a load of cash this summer. Is there really any point wasting more?

This near first choice team would have been our 9 or 10 cup change team last season.

Imagine Koeman will be asked about incomings after todays game. Doesnt seem there is much imminent, and the last time he expected a few signings they happened two weeks after he said they were very close.
