Of course its right. Like if Liverpool sold Suarez and Sterling and then Sturridge was injured for ages. Will need 8 players. If 5 are decent then that might do, much less and its going to be close. The absolute key, is that we need a striker who will score PL goals from day one.

The Cork and Fonte deals are huge now. Need to retain some consistency and keep a couple of the players that have grown with the club. Still amazed its nearly pre season and this hasnt been done, when both players have shown they are very keen to stay if they are actually offered something.

No question Lallana and Liverpool benefit from the deal more than Saints. Especially as we have already lost Lambert, and Jay Rod to injury. Need to rebuild our entire attack in 2 months.

Will make it crucial to get someone in who as good as guarentees goals, not someone who may or may not adapt. Also need to start making signings so they have a full pre season, or as near to it as possible.

Even though you know its coming (unless you have ahd your head buried for months), it doesn't make it any easier. We may buy in good players, but Lallana has been with Saints for years and both he and Shaw were developed by the club. Sad, sad day to lose them - even if totally understandable from their perspectives. Also makes it massively important to retain players like Cork and Fonte who have some sort of proper history with the club.

Where did I say it was, in my opinion, a firesale? I used the term "so called" firesale and "firesale that often maligned media have mentioned" It is correc the media have referred to us selling players as a "firesale". If its their definiton thats wrong then take it up with them.
