Wigan have spent 8 years in the Prem now and only got their first win against a top 4 team last season. Good win for QPR but we are effectively 6 points ahead of them.

Disasterous? Pull yourself together lad!

Adkins said in last interview this wont happen.

Morgan for me. Puncheon and Cork making up top 3.

Strongest Lallana rumours were of a 10 week lay off. Even if its less, the Cup game wouldnt be a priority to rush him back for I wouldn't have thought.

Wouldn't bother mate. I stopped listening after this spectacular prediction on the "Points from next five games thread" http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?41216-Points-From-Next-5-Games Alpine Saint: Alpine on the reason why Reading will definitely beat us:

Delldays must like Reading transfer policy. No spuking of millions happening there.

Probably one of the ones who texts Solent asking why Sharp isn't being recalled.

If we sign Astori or another first-choice defender...
Saint Charlie replied to beavis17's topic in The Saints
Controversially I would actually give the guy a couple of training sessions to see how he does and let him settle. Fonte and Yoshida are doing well at the moment so no rush, but IMO Fonte is the better of the two. -
The lad from the Central Coast Mariners is better than Gaston IMO.
-
Class player in the middle, really offers an option that not many teams have, and lots of neutral fans at work having been saying he was really good yesterday.
-
Shame there aren't more articles like that. Every other one is just a transcript of whats on Saints player. Seeing as they have good access it would be nice to read a bit more in depth about some of the players every so often. This one was very good.

Decent interview... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/feature-interview-gaston-ramirez-574879.aspx?pageView=full#anchored

Recently on 5live one of the Pundits was talking about players slipping and said their old Manager (can't remember who but was a very good Manager) believed that a slip was a mistake and that it was very often because the player was balanced incorrectly and in the wrong position, forcing unnatural or accelerated movement leading to slips. This was more relevant to defensive slips I guess but an interesting point.

The January 2013 HCDAJFU thread...
Saint Charlie replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Absolute rubbish. If Fonte gets injured vs Chelsea or Villa and is out for the season then "cover" becomes "starter". As NA said pre Arsenal, anyone who comes in has to improve us. Whoever comes in might not start straight away but if they are not as good as Yoshida or Fonte then why the hell would we sign them. To improve we need to but better than what we have. If Yoshida keeps playing well he will stay in the side, but we arent going to purposely buy a "cover" player. No chance. -
The Journalist who wrote that told me that: In three days the offer (from Saints) will be formalized. We think in the coming days there will be certain updates.
-
True, and sums up the difference between our policy and that of QPR who would struggle to shift average, past it players on huge wages. (Puncheon would be able to leave for free though). If we went down we could sell Ramirez, Lallana, Schneiderlin, Cork, Shaw, Clyne etc the day after. But we won't go down - especially not if we add 3 more players, CB, GK and wide man.
-
Agree - Keeper, wide man and CB of decent quality would be a good window.
-
So people feel they can abuse but turn into wimpy pansies when the lad dares to throw a light plastic water bottle into the fans. Sums it up really.

Saints 1 Arsenal 1 - Post Match Reactions & MotM
Saint Charlie replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
Agreed with the Lambert sub - he was tiring and hadn't really affected the game IMO. Slowly their CBs were bring the ball further and further forward out of defence. I didn't agree with Ramirez at the time as he was having one of his best games for us and was a goal threat. However - having thought about it I can understand why we did it. JWP enabled us to match their system more, and is more diligent defensively than Gaston. -
Absolutely zero chance for the OG. He is a weirdo maverick. When I watched MOTD last night you could see him muttering and twitching his face all the time.
-
Spock on. Plus we can easily raise lots by selling players if we did end up going down. We could raise 30m very quickly - no dispuking that.
-
Can't dispuke that comment - would be the ideal scenario IMO.

Rumour - West Ham to bid for Rickie Lambert
Saint Charlie replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Lambert has 18 months left on his contract. Will we offer him another in the summer? If not then I think we would sell him in the summer. Zero chance of selling him now. -
So that we can get the player. By blowing other deals out the water the player effective has no choice of where to move to.
