  1. Its on ITV.
  2. Very dull...treating Poland like Spain. Milner and Cleverley will worry them for sure. Best player from Friday (AOC) dropped. Zzzzz
  3. He might well be, but the guy has played about 5 games in almost a year - a spell in the Champ would be ideal for him - he won't be a starter for us unless we have injuries at the moment.
  4. Lee going on a months loan to the Championship might not be a bad idea.
  5. Own goals would be our only downfall.
  6. Apparantly just a shot that deflected off him and he had no chance (not dangling his leg out) However- he did just give the ball way leading to a Kaka goal. 4-0 Brazil.
  7. Do you mean why did Les Reed sign him? Adkins wanted Liam Fontaine.
  8. Yoshida playing for Japan now - they are 2-0 down to Brazil.
  9. Cork has been a big miss - was pretty much an ever present last year. Also he is capable of playing RB - would have been ideal to bring him on last week against Fulham.
  10. Can understand it to a degree. Worth noting that Morgan has made more interceptions than any other prem player so far - yet some on here doubt his defensive ability. The issue with Chaplow is more when he has the ball than when he doesn't. Personally I would rather JWP or Cork played CM as on the ball they are far superior- if we keep the ball well that is going to harm WH more than the 'Chaplow Bite'.
  11. In all seriousness the best way to play WH is is to keep the ball and be strong offensively. They love to get teams pinned back on the edge of their own box and thats when they keep pumping good balls into the box and inevitably score because its hard to get out. The crowd tend to get restless if they arent having much possession and thats when the long balls become hopeful rather than calulated. If we let them come onto us from the KO then we have no chance, we will sink deeper into our half and they will score which is pretty much what happened last year there. We need to come out to dominate possession which is what NA wants us to do anyway. Make them a bit more ragged and the attacking composure they have demonstrated at time this season will disappear slightly.
  12. @solent Been at #Saintsfc training. Bizarre to see @rchap04 biting Morgan Schneiderlin for most of the practise game. #jaws
  13. Starting to resmble a team with passion. Would also make Chaplow captain because Lallana is a powderpuff motivator and Chaplow will "get into them" which will motivate the team. Because Clyne is short I would put him up front and play Lambert at RB to deal with balls to the back post. For this game I would sit Cortese on the bench so he can growl at the players and if we go a goal down can say he is not going to pay them. Also this might put pressure on NA to make good subs. We can bring on Butterfield for Lallana just to stiffen the side up - and he can man mark Demel.
  14. Maybe Richardson to man mark Noble - he dictates the play for them. Actually - Richardson and Seaborne in CM with Hooiveld at left mid to block Demel from playing the diag up to Carroll. What do you think Derry?
  15. Sadly the best way with pens - especially online is just to hit them down the middle.
  16. For me: -------------------Boruc------------------ Clyne------Fonte--------Maya---------Fox -----------------Morgan------------------ ----------Davis------------JWP------------ Puncheon-------------------------Lallana-- -----------------Lambert-----------------
  17. Cropper is injured. Will Britt played today (U18 keeper). Hope Shaw is just a knock - want to see him play vs Leeds.
  18. Quite possibly. Or is injured. It would be slightly harsh on Gazza - but IMO having someone like Boruc behind the defence would help them out too. Gazza could well be a class keeper for us, but the experience of Boruc would help at this moment in time.
  19. Hopefully - you can't have a team full of "mavericks" anyway - but the odd one or two will only help your chances of breaking down a defence. I think we have young players in this style - but imagine it is coached out of them - or they don't adapt to rigid formations etc.
  20. Think NC has demonstrated a decent amount of ambition with the signings - one of whom was 8m more than our record signing prior to this summer.
  21. I was at the game (yawn) and thought AOC was our best player by far. More galling were the likes of Cleverley whose every pass was so, so predictable - like years of coaching have taken any ounce of flair or imagination away. That is like so many English midfielders - they become quite good at doing the expected, and why we are so easy to defend against. Cleverley would play a pass to someone and then sprint forward because thats what he was coached to do (pass and mvoe) but with no intention of being available for the next ball - instead just moving in straight lines. At least NA keeps talking about getting us to "play between the lines" and we have some players ie Lallana who do this really well - drifting into good positions (and Lallana has the flair to do the unexpected occassionally) but you only had to see Ramirez vs Villa to see that he is the type of player England just don't produce - likewise David Silva, Cazorla etc. The reason - they play the same pass they did in the school playground 10-15 years ago - the natural, instinctive, creative one - rather than the one the coach said to when you get the ball in x position. Nearly all Silva, Cazorla, Fabregas, Iniesta, Xavi etc's best work comes out of little 5-10 yard passes - apart from they are played in the opposite direction/angle/time to what is the norm. England tried to play like that vs San Marino and kept getting the ball stuck under foot.
  22. I'm using WUM in the nicest sense. Most of his threads are very entertaining but as you put it often "wide of the mark".
  23. David in Sweden with another WUM thread. Bizarre. But not a suprise...... on previous form.
  24. Nice to see David Bull having an article published on the OS talking about the career of Albie Roles who passed away aged 91 earlier this month. What price some of this article appearing on the Mirror website tomorrow?
  25. There wasn't one until now because the comments arent really worth responding to.
