He is just one player - and clearly JRod is better than Sharp - I didn't know anyone who thought Sharp would look comfortable in the Prem. Of the others Yoshida looks good, Ramirez total class, Mayuka very promising, Davis solid midfield addition, Gazza a very able no 2 keeper, Clyne regular E U21 player... You can argue we could have strengthened other positions but not about the quality of player we have brought in. And you can't buy a whole new team in a summer... -

It is in no way a fact. We should have brought in a LB granted, and perhaps another CB, but the actual transfers we made are good deals IMO and all the players look better than what we had. Plus all those players have a good sell on value. -

Are you referring to Gabriel Valverde? I had heard that Reed went out to Bolivia to watch him? -

Apart from you don't know how much we have borrowed, could be a minor amount. Plus - if the Liebherr's suddenly said they wouldnt put more money in, then NC might not have had much other choice. Clearly we had to spend this summer to be at all competitive, plus the training ground costs were significant - can't do that all on a 30k capacity. As the poster said - it is up front cash when we need it ie now, based on guarenteed future income. If we stayed up we wouldn't need to spend as much next summer to improve. -

Buttner was a Cortese signing IMO, just like Dany N'Guessan. -

IMO if we go down the culprits will be Cortese, Les Reed, Adkins, the players, Jeremain Lens and the kid who took the grainy picture of JRod from the window of the Hotel in the New Forest. -

Still can't believe he didn't bring on Seaborne to man mark Scholes. -

If we did go down we have easily enough assets that would be leaving anyway (due to not wanting to play in the Champ) that we could comfortably cover a loan assuming it isn't more than 25m or so. Not likely that we wouldnt be able to pay it back. Its hard not to trust Cortese, he knows what he is doing I'm sure. -
Lallana outside chance but would be suprised. Rickie I can't see even if he scores 30 this season. If he was 21 maybe but his type of player just doesnt fit with the media etc. They would just focus on what he can't do rather than the fact he is probably the best striker of a ball in the league.

Training Ground Development - "temporarily suspended"
Saint Charlie replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
3 years and the worst we have is car park fees! Comedy really when the guy has transformed the club. In this scenario then seeing as the revamp is costing a lot of money hopefully we are making sure it is as good as it can be. Adam Blackmore from Solent seems to think its a minor hitch over a part of the plans. -
Training Ground Development - "temporarily suspended"

I know someone on here that close to the Company in question (Dig Dig) and the last he was aware there was no major problem but some talk of expanding upon the original plans. -
Its a ludicrous assumption based on one sub appearance. In fact, Adkins likes him so much that he didn't train with the first team in pre season despite doing so last year for msot of the season. Yesterday in the U21s Shaw played LB. If Reeves was going to come into the team on Sunday he would have played there. If any young player is at LB it would be Shaw not Reeves.
-
Fox has the ability - he just needs to concentrate more defensively.
-
Me too. Fox is frustrating and has been poor this season defensively, but I think he has the ability to do ok if he wises up, and is a good passer usually. Richardson is a decent Championship player but not good enough and never will be, at this level. Would rather Clyne went back to the right and Fox or Shaw come in.
-
Richardson was pretty woeful I thought. Too slow on the ball and often gave it away. Totally let Jelavic go for the third goal. He isn't a prem player.
-
Not saying reeves isnt a good player but he couldnt get in Dagenham's team last season when they were bottom of L2. Shaw the much better player of the two, and Reeves has been moved up the field because he is too lightweight to be a defender. Only reason Clyne came off was because Reeves has a better left footed cross.
-
Chaplow and Richardson are not the answer. If Fox isn't up to it then lets hope Shaw has a good game back from illness today for the U21s. Defense vs Everton wasnt terrible, it was the lack of support from the midfield. This formation should help contain the flanks, and JWP and Davis just need to be a bit more aggressive trying to win back the ball in the middle. If we played Chaplow we wouldnt keep the ball enough which would ruin our whole setup. Lets go for the 4-4-1-1 that we played so well vs Villa second half: ----------------Boruc-------------------- Clyne------Jose-------Yoshida-------Fox Puncheon----Davis-----JWP-------Lallana ----------------Ramirez--------------- ---------------Lambert----------------
-
Indeed it is true. Arthur Michael Lallana. Congtats.
-
Im still using most of those - they were quality. Just need a Ramirez one.
-
Already is.
-
Looked very sharp when he came on vs Villa and not just pace, seemed to have good control, shot and dribbling skills too.
-
THEVMAN will know...
-
If Morgan was injured that would be a huge blow - he is easily our best CM.
-
Couldn't see him on the free transfers and he wasnt with Fiorentina or Saints. Maybe Poland - I didnt check.
