Lallana being captain makes no difference to anything. Aside from Gaston and Morgan there is nobody else guarenteed a place in the team. He is a wholehearted player and IMO leads on the pitch as well as anyone else would.

He also travelled to the Alps with Chung and Chung's Dad and caused Lee's elbow injury. Pretty sure he also injured Michael Svensson before the Pompey game at Fratton - he was over as a visitor of the worlds most fierce derby.

Clearly when we signed Sharp he wasnt our first choice, we wanted Hooper or JR but couldnt get either. Thats why Sharp was a done deal for msot of the transfer window and then happened right at the end.

Who knows? He has only played that one cup match this season so doubt he would be in the side for a couple of weeks after he is back anyway.

No - more about watching him for the 6months before. He is clearly not a Prem player.

There are a couple of relative unknowns fair enough but generally a strong list, some really good players there - and the Prem representatives are very strong.

Im not sure we will be fine. You are sure that we won't be. No point saying he will be sacked if this or if that and then saying that I can't say the opposite in his defense...already you have said we have lost at WH - the game is in 10 days time! Bizarrely negative attitude. We are currently 17th, and if we finish there will have done a great job. We will tighten the defence and pick up more points. (All IMO so if you disagree no problem).

Woeful is the description of someone who hasnt seen us play a lot and just has taken the results and made an assumption. We have only been woeful for the Arsenal game and 15mins vs Everton. And your argument is based on us not taking advantage of playing the lower teams - our four points so far have come against those type of teams so pretty sure our return over the next 7 will be more than from the first. If not then you certainly have to question NA. But until then see what happens ratehr than assuming.

The thing is you just can't really tell. yes you could be right. Equally we could beat WH and either Spurs or WBA - just wait and see what happens rather than hypothesing and predicting results. If it were that easy then everyone would have put the bookies out of business.

I think that as long as by our 19th league game we have at least 15 points then Adkins would be ok. That is just under the one point per game that would keep us up and with the transfer window to help as well. Any less than that and serious questions would be asked. However, with the run we have up to Arsenal at home on NYD I think we will be averaging over 1 point per game and be on course to stay up. Pretty clear our start was horrendous and performances have been good in patches. As others have said, despite that start we are somehow out the bottom three. Now the next ten games we need to push on and get at least 4 wins.

There is no point trying to reason with some of these WUMs.

Boruc was a Cortese, Adkins and Les Reed signing IMO. As above, great option to have but hope we continue with Gazza for now.

And the best bit is that despite our start (against some very good teams) we arent even in the relegation zone. We have showed we can score goals - just need to tighten up at the back which is easier said than done, but once we get the back four and keeper more settled that will help and then I would imagine in Jan we will add defensively.

IMO we need a tough old style gaffer like Mick McCarthy or Gary Megson. Players don't understand Nigel, the team don't play how he wants them to and it is still a Pardew/Cortese team IMO. No way that the lads would misunderstand the tactics of the two I mentioned. "Hit the channels" "Play the diag" "Get into him" "Ramirez you tosser, stop playing with flair and freedom in the fluid system you previous manager created, hit the f*****g channels and aimlessly chase Lambert's flick on's you lazy b*****d."

Not on fees no, but with wages of big players too that also adds up. You certainly need to spend to give yourself the best chance. Plus as I said this year is particularly tough with only really Wigan and Norwich of the existing teams being early relegation candidates. At least one promoted side will go down this year.

Agree - but in reality to compete in the Prem you need to spend at the start. This year is a better league IMO then last year where Wolves, Bolton and Blackburn were woeful. Otherwise you are pretty much making up the numbers - we have spent big and need to stay up. This loan is just about having cash now rather than promised money down the line.

He didn't play up front vs City etc When he did in the cup his first goal was very tidy. Agree he hasnt showed a great deal otherwise, as hasnt played up there much - but clearly a better option than Sharp - far superior allround game.
