So you do not address my key statements, not unexpected. Sea harriers were deleted from the inventory by Cameron nothing to do with Blair, I don’t understand your T45 reference. Under the Tories we were committed to Project Horizon with France and Italy, to quote a senior U.K. rep on the design team “The French wanted a comfortable ship, the Italians wanted a good looking ship, and the RN wanted a ship that could fight”. To many compromises, the Tories were happy to continue with this as it meant no serious budgetary commitment, the Blair government took us out of this intractable arrangement and we now have T45.

This old excuse. The reductions in capability and numbers from the Cold War peace dividend were mainly instigated and taken by the Major Government ( I had a lovely redundancy package). The Blair government did reduce numbers but did not notably reduce capability, indeed they increased it, as an example the Carriers which Cameron came very close to cancelling. No matter how you argue it the Tories have always cut defence more than Labour, John Knott was about to gut the RN in 1982, reducing it to an ASW only Navy. The Falklands and Admiral Leach saved it, and Knott was never heard of again.

Your record on predicting, assessing , analysing ,military capabilities intentions and outcomes is woeful. I can't be bothered to trawl through the hundreds of posts on the subject just to provide evidence.

There are a number of factors that have created the woeful state of our armed forces. Primarily the defence cuts of successive Tory governments since 2010. They hollowed out many and removed entire capabilities in the 2010 Strategic Defence Review, it was neither strategic nor a review, simply an exercise in austerity. The corresponding manpower reductions and poor recruitment campaigns have left our forces woefully undermanned and unfit for purpose. Political dithering, interferenceand lack of understanding by politicians on major procurement projects is a significant contributor to overspends.
  6. The how are we going to pay argument does not stack up. Post WWII the most radical government of modern times created the NHS and delivered multiple other social benefits. The USA new deal in the thirties was based on a government spending money “it didn’t have”. Provide your spending is focused on longer term infrastructure and social improvements it is an investment and you will get a return on it.
  7. If you’re a twitcher there are some interesting species, not just penguins. The only place I have ever been where they had darts commentary on the radio, including the impromptu bar fight that broke out during the game. It is certainly a one off and if you are genuine world travel worth a visit. Don’t miss the Cathedral with the corrugated iron roof.
  8. Yes but City have more money than Liverpool and make it soooo hard for them buying all the good players.
  9. Yes, and I would recommend them. PM me for more info.
  10. Wow just wow
  11. And are entitled to be treated humanely and receive a fair and efficient hearing, shamefully neither of which this excuse for a government seems capable of doing.
  12. You need to understand the difference between illegal immigration and asylum. The right wing love to use incorrect terminology to justify their illegal plans deliberately using illegal immigration and asylum as one and the same thing, another is saying foreign courts should not rule on UK matters, when the courts they are referring to are International Courts, i.e. courts within which the UK has equal representation to all the signatories of the agreements that set up the courts in the first place, they are not "foreign". Ironically International Courts were originally championed by UK governments including tory ones.
  13. The thing is these prosecutions were private prosecutions totally in the gift of the post office. The CPS had no involvement in making the decision to prosecute. Given that the the evidence against the individuals came directly from the PO and the Software house and has been shown to be unsound and unsafe I fail to see how one can point the finger at the CPS. There are a number of "Organisations" who can bring such prosecutions, a hangover of Victorian public bodies charters, somewhat belatedly the Gov are talking about removing these arcahic rights.
  14. Major difference was Adkins had had a whole season with the team, Martin is having to sort out the shitshow from last season.
  15. So please can you expand on what the EU could have given us, we already had one of if not the best deal, what is that you 5hink we deserve more than the other countries and why?
  16. Our Bath City loanee got MoM fire the Romans today, kept them in it with a string of Greta saves. Big difference in leagues but you never know😉
  17. Where is this from, Sky reporting Saints have requested he play.
  18. 75% according to BBC, still irrelevant if we don’t convert it.
  19. Tells us nothing
  20. Dodd also played for Bath City, we purchased him from there.
  21. It may be an “immutable fact” but it also a big assumption that the record matters to JWP. He has never seemed to me to be focused on glory hunting, of course I am sure he would love to get the record. The key is no sensible offers.
  22. He is preimiership player, we are in the Championship if the chance him to return to Prem arises that is right for SFC that does not negate the service he has given to us. He will always be a Saint, is Mike Channon not a legend? JWP has been a shinning example of a loyal player.
  23. Bit more high tech, especially the deployment system.
  24. Correct, however the purpose was to stop high speed suicide / autonomous boats and nothing to do with refugees and asylum seekers boats.
  25. Well, I don't see any great competence, efficiency or effectiveness from the the private sector. They have a monopoly and still they can't run it, only priority is dividends and bonuses. In public ownership ministers are directly responsible for performance. Thatcher's privatisation experiment with national infrastructure and utilities has failed, and we will pick up the bill while shareholders and senior executives count their winnings.
