You make good points about the spine of the team - ours is extremely weak and that can only spell problems unless it is fixed pretty quickly.

Well their stock is a fair bit higher than ours at the moment and people have been hoping he'd come here so why not Bournemouth.

I agree with what you are saying but my issue is that nearly every time we make late signings we are pissing the money up against the wall as proved by the amount of deadwood we can't shift. It gets near deadline day and we panic buy.

Maybe that's because we won't be signing him. Time to accept that he's beyond our price range.

It was stated at the fan forum that SR have spent over 200 million. That's all well and good but we know that a huge chunk of that has been wasted on players that have not measured up. It's not just how much you spend it's also about what you spend it on. We've wasted fortunes and a club of our size has to be smarter in its transfer dealings.

Not really sure of the point of these fan forums if I'm honest. Any questions regarding finances/recruitment/transfers get swerved so we learn absolutely nothing that we didn't know before.

I get how it works. The problem for me is that we usually end up in a last minute panic and any money available is spent on dross.

Is it only an hour? If so that's not long enough when you consider the news will be on at six o'clock and Adam B will probably take another 5 minutes opening the show plus 5 minutes rapping it up. We'll probably get about 45 minutes of content if we're lucky.

I agree with this. We are absolutely bonkers if the thinking is to build a side now that is likely to be relegated but will somehow storm the Championship next season - that's a mad strategy.

RM wouldn't have encouraged him to do that - finding space in midfield to receive a pass then laying it off and running down the wing to receive the return before crossing for team mate to score. Whatever next 🙂

Looks as though he's going to Ipswich so we'll see how he does in the Premier League. He's someone we could have afforded I'd have thought.
