  1. What, between them and Leicester for second place behind us? 🙂
  2. Cut me a slice please 🙂
  3. Another comprehensive home victory. We are almost unplayable at St Marys now.
  4. A goal and 2 more assists for Arma!
  5. Leicester glancing over their shoulder nervously 🙂
  6. This lad looks a very good prospect and is a decent size for a midfielder. Great to get him signed especially as there was interest from Prem clubs.
  7. He'd be a fantastic signing but there are Prem clubs interested so he'll not be joining us.
  8. It's an ok draw as far as I'm concerned. Reasonable chance of going through and if we do go out no disgrace and concentrate on the league.
  9. You maybe right but let's see.He needs more time and my concern is that we move him on cheaply and he develops into a top player as I really think he could. Too early to be writing him off imo.
  10. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think Mara has had a decent run of regular games. I see a player with bags of talent and potential who is still very young and working on many aspects of his game. Perhaps a loan spell would have helped but Mara has been needed in our squad. There are enough positive signs for me to suggest he'll be a good player and maybe he'll be one who suddenly clicks into gear and goes from strength to strength.I don't get the lazy accusations being levelled at him - he's young and playing in a tough league and always puts a shift in. Hoping he develops quickly as, if he does, we'll have a very good player on our hands.
  11. Agree with the views that this team has evolved into a very efficient outfit that can often be easy on the eye. Some of the goals we've scored by taking the ball from goalkeeper to attack have been superb. RM and his coaches deserve high praise for what they are achieving. I believe he's had to make some tweaks here and there but it's reassuring to see that he's not set in stone about how we play. The inverted left back position we adopt still concerns me but I'm guessing there's a good reason for it that I'm not aware of- it does seem to leave Manning stranded infield at times with oceans of space down his flank. RM's system is a lot different to Ralph's and does not take the same physical toll on the players which led to collapses and periods of matches where the side were too knackered to compete - I think Newcastle play similar to Ralph and it's noticeable that they are having the same issues with fatigue, injuries and energy levels. Clearly if we do get promoted we'll face far different challenges as Burnley are finding but that's the way it is. We'd need to strengthen considerably and would probably have to mix up the playing out from the back and be prepared to hoof it when the situation demands it. All in all very happy with current situation and the way we are playing.
  12. To read some of the comments you'd think Wednesday was the team with the long unbeaten run 🙂
  13. The Holgate and Stephens errors were just poor passes under no pressure so hard to blame those on playing out from the back. I don't recall us giving possession away too much yesterday when playing out from the back. I get that sometimes it looks a bit kamikaze and you find yourself wishing we'd just hammer the ball clear but I guess we just aren't prepared to make that compromise. In the Championship we get away with far more than we would in the Prem so, if we go up it'll be interesting to see if anything changes.
  14. A few weeks ago we'd all have been very confident of winning this one. However, Wednesday have now won three games on the bounce so are clearly beginning to improve. I still think we'll win the game but they'll probably make us work for it.
  15. There was a lot to admire about yesterday's performance. I'm particularly encouraged by the ability shown by the four youngsters as it shows they are being well coached and understand how we play. Meghoma looks to have it all although he was not overly tested defensively. He displayed a great aptitude to get forward at pace at every opportunity and partnered very well with Wee Man. Looks to be one who will soon be making the step up to the first team squad. Agree with others that it was a quieter game for SAA but I think that was largely because Fraser was so brilliant we constantly tried to get him the ball on the opposite flank. There were still little cameos from SAA to show he's another great prospect. Dibling came on and you could sense how much he wanted to make an impression. He was always direct and looking to get into shooting positions and clearly is a lad confident in his own ability. Bragg was not on for long but slotted in seamlessly and always found space and time to receive the ball and find a team mate. With these youngsters ready to bolster the first team squad soon it bodes well for our future.
  16. How is Chris Sutton doing with his FA Cup predictions? The guy embarrassed himself. What a complete tit.
  17. You could clearly hear Lumley shouting and organising his defenders which I always like. On that score I think Baz is a little on the quiet side.
  18. Wee Man clearly man of the match, superb all game plus two well taken goals. Meghoma the young left back was excellent, really impressed with him today and looks to have a big future. Dibbling looked very confident and tried hard to get a goal. The young midfielder Bragg came on and got involved and looked very comfortable. Lumley was excellent and very vocal. Charley sloppy in large parts but think he got a couple of assists. Too much walking football for my liking but in the end it was an easy win.
  19. We have been incredibly sloppy in our finishing and misplacing simple passes. We started very well then allowed complacency to set in. Charley has been very poor so far and on this evidence wouldn't get in their side. Mara also - he missed a simple chance and also ignored our young full back on his outside for a simple pass. Smallbone missed an absolute sitter. We should be 3 up but have given them chances. Lumley has been excellent and is very vocal. Need to put this game to bed early in the second half and that will require better concentration and less complacency. This should be a very easy game for us and we've made hard work of it so far.
  20. We ought to win the 5 home games although upsets do happen. The away games are less easier to forecast because currently we are drawing too many - that trend could continue but then again the draws could turn into either defeats or wins because they are often close fought games. I reckon we'll get around 21 points.
  21. It would be very funny if one of the two Championship play-off sides reach the FA Cup Final. I'd enjoy the thought of the FA big wigs rushing around in a blind panic. It won't happen though.
  22. Start with a strong side, get a few in front then sub 4 players on 60 minutes and coast the second half. Easy.
  23. I appreciate the clarification and realise the CoT has to uphold its hard earned reputation of being one of the few trusted sources around. Will try to reign in my impatience for news and look forward to clues and updates as and when available.
  24. I'm sure we'd all have liked a few more away wins but we've had 6 plus 6 draws and only 2 defeats giving us 24 points from 14 games. I reckon that's a pretty good return to be honest.
  25. The downside is minimal compared to the shame, disappointment and anger that will be felt if we lose this easy home tie. I'm sure it is not beyond the wit of our manager and coaches to cobble together a side minus a few regulars that will comfortably beat Walsall.
