The time for us to make changes was the moment they were reduced to ten men. If you were setting up to play ten men you wouldn't use the same tactics as against eleven. Jones should have made a sub straight away, switched to a back four and had two wingers hugging the touchlines. We should have been the side dictating the game.
-
Good for him. Hopefully keeps him well away from us.

I think taking the City game in isolation is too simplistic. Ok, we played very well and beat them on the night. However, every game in the Premier league presents different challenges because of how opponents set up. The great managers have the intelligence to work out how to deal with the nuances. Us setting up and trying to play like we did against City every week simply wouldn't work.

Agree, turd polishing experts are few and far between.

Maybe he's just not good at managing team's who begin with the letter M.
-
I know he's gone but I'm still scratching my head and trying to come to terms with how we managed to lose that game. How did we allow ten men to dominate us and cause such panic? If you didn't know you'd have thought we were the team down to ten men. If ever anything demonstrated how out of his depth tactically Mad Nate was it was the last hour of this game.

You'd like to think SR have been planning this? You have far more confidence in them than I do. I'd like to think they'll put identifying and appointing a new manager in the hands of someone who knows about football - that rules out the current set of clowns. Don't know if there's a precedent but maybe they should leave it to someone outside the club on a consultative basis.
-
I certainly agree that we have no one running the club who has the slightest idea about football which leaves us in a perilous position. Wilcox would probably have more ideas on the managerial front than the current clowns but he is not currently an employee unless I'm mistaken. Like a rudderless ship we have crashed on the rocks and I'm not sure we have anyone at the club capable of steering the ship to a safe haven before it is completely destroyed by the rocks.
-
All I will say in his defence is you can't blame him for taking the job - you can and should blame Ankersen for offering it to him. He is more to blame in all this shambolic mess than Nathan Jones.
-
What experience, if any, has Jason Wilcox got in the business of identifying and selecting Premier League managers? Maybe he has a lot but I would like to know before we start suggesting it be part of his remit. I get that the current clowns running the club have failed miserably and, as I've said before, I have zero confidence that they know how to run a Premier League football club.
-
Because the inept owners need someone to run the ship until they make another appointment - I dread to think who these charlatans will come up with.
-
How did Marsch's last managerial job go? Wasn't he sacked for putting Leeds in relegation trouble? Yeah, he'd be an ideal option but only in Ankersen's strange mind.
-
Agree. I await a full blown public apology to the fans from Ankersen and the rest because they have presided over an absolute disaster for this great football club. Now be man enough to own it and make a humble apology. Needless to say I won't hold ny breath.
-
The sad truth is that SR have no experience or clue as to how to run a Premier League football club - they are as out of their depth as Jones was.
-
Agree but wouldn't trust any of the other clowns at the club so we're between a rock and a hard place.
-
That's Ankersen or you - far too smart for his own good that man.
-
If the bit about Steve Bruce on an 18 month contract has any truth I'm totally done with this club.
-
Marsch...what you mean the guy who Leeds have just sacked because he got them into relegation trouble? Would make perfect sense in Ankersen's weird world so could well happen.
-
Partly true but the main reason we lost was down to tactical ineptitude from Jones.
-
We've already pretty much sacked off every game we've played this season under Ralph and Jones. All I'm saying is, it's cost us a lot so let's not throw more good money after bad.
-
You mean you haven't already reached the stage of questioning SR's sanity?
-
Time to wake up and smell the coffee. We aint getting out of this.
-
If Nathan Jones is sacked the Welsh village that's missing its resident idiot can have him back.
-
Basically, we're relegated whatever happens so why throw any more money at it this season.
