  1. He is but isn't he also the major investor by a long way?
  2. Do they even get any credit for the investment side? My understanding would be that the money spent came from Dragan. It's very easy to spend other people's money, the skill is knowing what to do with it to progress the club. We're in a race to the bottom with no sign of it stopping yet.

Yeah, I get that. Normally managers bring their own coaches with them but Selles has found himself working under two bosses neither of who chose him. I guess this makes him a bit of an unknown quantity because he probably hasn't had much of a say in how he'd like the team to operate. We're about to find out if he has much about him although it would be unfair to judge him until he has a number of games under his belt. Assuming he'll do the press conference we'll see what he has to say and his team selection and formation will also be very interesting
  4. Have the club actually said that Selles was always their choice? I've not heard that. I guess if Marsch changed his mind yesterday they had no option but to declare Selles will be in charge this weekend but interesting that you reckon they've now said he was always their choice. Does this mean he's in place until the end of the season?
  5. For me the problem is not that they didn't get Ralph's replacement right it's how far they got it wrong.
  6. I have no problem with most of what they say and the ambitions they have for the club. Where I struggle to be convinced is that any of them including Semmens has much idea about how to run a Premier League football club. They look totally out of their depth to me. Maybe there's something about them I'm missing. Very happy for them to prove me wrong but I don't have any confidence in these guys because they continue to make mistake after mistake.
  7. Well some may describe Ankersen as a world class leadership expert but I think that's over-egging the guy. Anyone with an ounce of credibility would never have gone near Nathan Jones and it would not have taken much research to ascertain why. But Mr Clever Clogs with his spreadsheets and algorithms managed to overlook or miss all the alarm bells while, at the same time, failing miserably to do due diligence. He then told the fans forum that him and his chums see things behind the scenes that we don't, implicating that Jones would turn out ok given time - as we now know Jones got one more game in which he gave away 3 valuable points by turning a 1-0 lead into a 2-1 defeat against ten men. Ankersen bears a large chunk of the responsibility for the mess we find ourselves in yet guys like him seem teflon coated and never seem to face accountability. He's a good talker I'll give him that much but there's little or no substance to him in reality. He's always praised for his role at Brenford but, from what I gather, Phil Giles was and is the brains behind their success. Ankersen left them, they didn't replace him and have continued on an upward curve suggesting that he wasn't in the least crucial to what they were doing. Along with Semmens these are two men with a large part to play in running our club...or should that be ruining our club.
  8. It's the kind of thing that is likely to happen when clowns are running the circus.
  9. Couldn't that have been discussed at the very first conversation they had with Marsch to save wasting everyone's time? It's not as though it's not well known in football that managers get sacked with huge pay-offs. Having said that we are talking about Ankersen and Semmens who don't strike me as too switched on when it comes to footballing matters which is a major worry in itself.
  10. There's a photo of Rooney at Heathrow arrivals on The UIgly Inside claimed to have been taken yesterday.

I get the impression he thinks he could do it but then he clearly thinks too highly of himself in many aspects.
  12. I think being player manager would put too much on his plate and he'd become a lesser presence on the field. I get where you're coming from but regretably SR's incompetence has left us all clutching at straws.
  13. We could do worse and I never thought I'd say that. Can't and won't happen of course.
  14. None of the above.
  15. Not sure I believe this but, if true, it again reflects poorly on SR.
  16. The ownership, management and whole club needs an overhaul - the loan system is the least of our worries.
  17. I would think the longer a prospective new manager spends talking to Ankersen and Semmens the more alarm bells would ring. Maybe he was put off by those two.
  18. Let's hope you won't be disappointed by who we appoint instead and also hope Jessie Marsch doesn't pitch up somewhere else and do a good job.
  19. But again, would he take a short term contract? It's all well and good trying to avoid further pay-outs if a manager comes in and it doesn't work out but we are now making things difficult for us to protect us from another Ankersen screw up. It's a case of once bitten and means no reasonable candidates are likely to be interested so Selles gets the gig until the end of the season by default. It's not the way to run a football club.
  20. He's probably on Ankersen's radar.
  21. I dread to think what the ridiculous appointment of Nathan Jones has cost the club in terms of money and credibility. It was such a bonkers appointment you really have to wonder what level of intelligence are the people presiding over this shit show. Mind boggling. To think Ankersen makes money as an author of clever, high-brow books.
  22. Will be interesting to see who Selles picks and how he sets the team up. Hopefully no Janny B!
  23. Would any of them take a short term contract? I doubt it. SR have pretty much laid their cards on the table in that they won't be offering anything other than a short term contract. My guess is that counts out anyone of note so Selles gets the job until the end of the season. If that goes really badly SR will just be seen to be adding fuel to the inferno.

Do caretaker managers get a bounce?
  25. I really wanted to see Jessie Marsch given a chance. It will be interesting to see where he ends up next and how he does.
