  1. It's what happens when you allow a clever dick who is not nearly as bright as he thinks he is to make such a crucial appointment. Rubbish in, rubbish out.
  2. Could have been worse....could have been one of Rasmus Ankersen's works of fiction.
  3. Can't make him miss his golf.....priorities and all that.
  4. This must seriously impinge on Ankersen's credibility. Surely nobody now believes the guy is smart after this monumental mistake. Only somebody short of a brain cell or two would track Jones for months and decide he's cut out to run a Premier League club. Did he do zero due diligence?
  5. It would be an even bigger mistake for SR not to admit they've made a massive mistake.
  6. Would be unfair on him. His achievements at the club were significant and most of us fondly remember him as a likeable guy - let's not risk tarnishing that by inviting him into the middle of the current shitshow presided over by Semmens, Ankersen and Jones.
  7. Interesting that Selles took training this afternoon.
  8. Is that a hunch or are you ITK?
  9. Ankersen wasn't the brains behind Brentford it was the other guy who's name escapes me. Rasmus has been basking in reflected glory but is a charlatan I'm afraid.
  10. We'd need his brother as well because he's the brains.
  11. Just realised in the world of anagrams the letters Nathan Jones can be used to form the sentence Sent a Jonah 🙂
  12. I think Ankersen is deluded enough to think what happened in the movie Moneyball where the coach (Brad Pitt) is on a losing streak then suddenly turns things round and wins 20 straight games will happen for Jones.
  13. Nigel Adkins did a tremendous job for the club so seems churlish to criticise him with talk of meaningless slogans and insincere positivity. Most fans loved the guy and feel he played a big part in our history. He achieved back to back promotions and some of the football under him was superb. I'm not one of those fans suggesting he could do a job now because that would probably lead to his legacy being tarnished.
  14. He's certainly a cut above Janny B who is now starting and it should surprise nobody that we now look weaker defensively and have reverted to the old failing of conceding one goal swiftly followed by another.
  15. Strange that the 'better defensive organisation' disappeared the moment he introduced Janny B back into the mix along with the reincarnation of the old failing of conceding one goal followed quickly by another.
  16. Think you are wide of the mark. For a start we don't even know if Luton will be coming to town.
  17. I can't imagine our players involved in a 20 man brawl - they don't possess the aggression. Hand-bags would be my guess.
  18. The world is full of arrogant people like Ankersen who make money from books and talks that really consist of a load of fluffed up bullshit lacking in any real substance that people seem to buy into maybe because it's on trend. I'm sure many of us have been on company training courses costing fortunes where a speaker spouts a load of nonsense which will never be taken on board. These type of people are charlatans and con artists making a living by pretending they have something serious to say and, the sad thing is, many people fall for the charade.
  19. If they sack him and he wants compensation he will undoubtedly be required to sign an NDA.
  20. Could be true - I drove along the Marchwood by-pass earlier and saw a black face above the trees which must have been Tall Paul.
  21. Maybe change their mind and have Mad Nate in the hot seat with Paul Doswell asking the first question - guaranteed feisty that 🙂
  22. And that was taken prior to kick-off 🙂

    Fans Forum

I think the forum needs to start with Ankersen being invited to present a power-point session going through the journey that led him to appoint Nathan Jones. He could perhaps include details of all the attributes he saw in Jones, describe why he was considered the best man for the job and also give an insight into the skills and relevant experience of the assistant coaches he allowed Jones to bring with him. Ankersen might look to describe what due diligence was carried out including whether his run of results and press appearances whilst managing Stoke raised any causes for concern. It would be good to hear him speak on this as I think most of us were and still are completely baffled by this appointment. He's a clever man so I'm sure he can put together a compelling argument to support this important decision which I understand he was heavily involved in.
  24. Jones comes across as someone who knows he has fallen into a fantastic job but also knows he is way out of his depth. This is why we have no systems or shape and results are bombing. He then has to face being interviewed after games and is clearly either winging it or, he's thinking pre-interview of a new excuse for the latest debacle. To protect himself he is resorting to the comfort blanket of blabbering on about what he achieved at Luton and almost imploring people to believe that he is really a brilliant coach. The harsh reality is Ankersen made a catastrophic error in appointing him and this whole sorry saga can only end one way. Ankersen now needs to man-up, bite the bullet and admit he got this completely wrong before it does any more damage to the club we love and, not least, the mental state of the man he wrongly appointed..
  25. Some fans, not many admittedly, stuck up for Janny B after the Newcastle game. The guy is useless. Just watched highlights from today and on their second goal the ball is out wide and he has a fellow defender in front of him trying to block. So what does our Janny B, an international defender no less do, well he adopts a position on the same parallel as his team mate instead of trying to block a different line. It is just schoolboy stuff.
