Because Selles is the coach.
-
Typical Selles sub - bring on someone who is weak and ineffective when we are under the cosh.
-
Selles is clearly expecting a big defeat and has picked a side to limit the damage. Looks to me as though we'll go five at the back and probably have Alcaraz as a lone front man with the rest trying to pack out the midfield and hope for the odd quick break through Sulemana. 5-0 defeat would be a reasonable outcome today.

Time for a major rebuild and not just involving players and coaches. Can we please go back to a more traditional striped shirt - the current design is hideous. Somehow we need to reconfigure St Marys so that the home support covers the whole of one end to create a better atmosphere and stick away fans somewhere that makes it harder for them to generate so much noise. We need a new manager along with a set of good coaches who pride themselves on having the fittest team in the division, who have fast, progressive attacking beliefs coupled with looking to get every player moving off the ball and getting between the lines - no more static robots who are quite happy to hide from the ball. Clear out the dead wood and introduce some experience so we have a better blend of younger and older players and bring in some bigger, faster more aggressive types. This will encourage more exciting football, energise the crowd and get the fans back on side. I'm hoping Jason Wilcox will bring some fresh ideas to help rejuvenate the club. If we do nothing we are headed only one way so an urgent reset is needed during the summer and let's have a team we can be proud of again - it's been too long.

He got totally mixed up - instead of threading the ball through the eye of a needle he's been shitting through it.
-
Apparently Semmens was inconsolable at the end of the game. Somebody told him he's got 4 extra away matches to go to next season so will be away from his family even more.
-
Doesn't bode well for us on Sunday. The 9-0 record could well go.
-
That was a very tough and embarrassing watch. We are so weak, feeble and poor all over the pitch and completely out of our depth. Thank feck we're going down because I couldn't stand another season like this one. At least we'll get a few more wins in the Championship although I don't think we'll be anywhere near promotion. Selles must go because again he picked the wrong players tonight and left it too long to change things. A rebuild is needed but keep Ankersen well away from it.

Now making them look like Man City.
-
Nothing more predictable than that.
-
Need a goal so we bring on Lyanco. JWP off - suspect words have been said in the dressing room.
-
That was about as dire as it gets - we are clueless and so weak and feeble. We need something up front so Selles may as well throw on Adams and Sulemana now. We don't look like scoring and you get the impression Bournemouth will get one. Fortunately it doesn't really matter because this display just reinforces the fact that this side don't belong in the top league. Very poor.

I see Man Utd won the 2nd/3rd place FA Cup play off today. Pretty drab game but, as usual, Utd got the rub of the green even though Brighton were marginally the better side.
-
Why not take off the invisible man Adam Armstrong then? He contributed next to nothing while on the pitch - I thought he even lacked effort which is the least that should be expected.
-
On the flip side he might have scored a hat-trick if we'd kept him on - that's the opposing positive scenario.
-
3 match ban is for straight red. If we were worried he'd pick up a second yellow that would have been a one match ban. Not ideal but we could live with it. We can't be basing decisions on what might happen because we're not sat in mid table obscurity. I'm sure Arsenal were delighted to see Alcaraz taken off at half time.
-
It is clearly bonkers to take off your best player because you worry he'll pick up a second yellow especially in our current predicament. Our desperate situation calls for risk taking not a conservative approach. Same goes for subbing Lavia unless he was injured. When he went off Odegaard suddenly began to have a big influence whereas he'd been fairly anonymous until then. If we'd kept Alcaraz on and squeezed the final minutes out of Lavia we would have greatly increased our chance of taking all 3 points. Selles needs to realise that caution is not an option now.
-
To be fair Gary Neville stressed more than once after the incident that he hates those type of challenges and said they should be taken more seriously with action against the player for endangering an opponent. It is time this kind of action resulted in a straight red card as it is one of the most dangerous and irresponsible things a player can do.
-
I think some are perhaps being a bit harsh on that performance - there was much to admire even though it was disappointing not to come away with 3 points. We are all frustrated so are maybe not giving the team the credit they deserve. Even at 3-1 I'm sure most of us suspected that when Arsenal got that goal back they'd go on to draw or even win as there was plenty of time to go. The loss of two points away to the League leaders is not what will relegate us it's the many sub-standard performances against lesser sides. It was a great game to watch, one of the best we've been involved in all season and we can take far more out of it than the countless drab games where we lost 1-0 and barely laid a glove on our opponents.
-
I think the point I'm trying to make is obvious. Not sure what it has to do with our previous keepers.
-
I think for Odegaard's goal a top keeper anticipates he'll go for that corner and is on the move thus giving him a better chance of making the save - Bazunu waits for the shot to be hit then dives so is invariably far too late. I think one of his greatest weaknesses is his lack of anticipation
-
It's official - Selles is mad!!!!!!!
-
Tall Paul and Sulemana for Theo and AA. We'll need to go long second half and this will give us an outlet.
-
Would have started Djenepo and Sulemana - at least we'd be unpredictable.
-
That's a prolific front two and with Mo supplying the ammunition we are set to score goals tonight 🙂
