  1. Yet, in the end, Bielsa maverick genius could do nothing to prevent them regularly letting in 3 or 4 goals at a time.
  2. Get Marsch in quick!
  3. A guy on Blackmore's phone in said no to Marsch and then said we should get in Nigel Adkins 🙂
  4. Well you could go and ask Everton anf Fulham fans what they think of Marco Silva and I'm sure you'd get two sets of completely opposing views.
  5. I was against Marsch initially but realistically he's probably about as good as we can hope for. Most of us don't believe we have any chance of avoiding the drop and, to be fair, it was always going to happen eventually on our budget. Willing to be open minded and give Marsch a chance to see what he can do - he'll be working with a different set of players so perhaps he can get a tune out of our under achievers. Plus I don't think there are many other options in our predicament - beggars can't be choosers and all that. As long as we don't end up with someone out of the blue chosen by the wise one Rasmus Fecking Ankersen using his clever algorithm.
  6. Pep thinks he's the mutts nuts. Apart from that, nothing.
  7. Ratcliffe may as well buy Saints then.
  8. He didn't want to be here and got his wish to move to a bigger club where he didn't cut the mustard. He came back with his tail between his legs and, unfortunately for us, Jones decided he was a good option for the first team. As expected it's been one mistake after the other culminating in one of the clumsiest panic-stricken ogs I've ever seen. Bednarek is not good enough for the Premier League and it's time he realised it - he's proved it many times over.
  9. I understand it is very difficult to significantly improve fitness levels at the same time as playing matches. There is absolutely no excuse these days for not being as fit as every other team in the Premier League - if we are not then that is criminal.
  10. Not sure Tall Paul will be a good fit for Marsch's pressing from the front philosophy.
  11. There are two things guaranteed to happen more often when Janny B has a run of games for us....1) an increase in own goals and 2) conceding 2 goals in quick succession. It was ever thus.
  12. Well 90% and possibly more knew Jones would be a disaster and have been proved right so let's not reinvent the wheel and suggest that Ankersen and SR know best because they clearly don't.
  13. If true once again SR and Ankersen will be taking us out of the frying pan into the fire. He's just been fired for coaching Leeds into relegation contenders.
  14. So you'd advocate a coach should set up the same way whether playing against eleven men or ten. Whatever Wolves did at half time we should have already changed from five at the back when Lemina was sent off. Not saying our players don't have to take some responsibility but this defeat was largely down to the inadequacies of Jones.
  15. Also common sense when appointing a new manager rather than relying on an algorithm that spews out names such as Nathan Jones. Hope lessons have been learned but I doubt it.
  16. Beating Chelsea is not simple particularly for us.
  17. The time for us to make changes was the moment they were reduced to ten men. If you were setting up to play ten men you wouldn't use the same tactics as against eleven. Jones should have made a sub straight away, switched to a back four and had two wingers hugging the touchlines. We should have been the side dictating the game.
  18. Good for him. Hopefully keeps him well away from us.
  19. I think taking the City game in isolation is too simplistic. Ok, we played very well and beat them on the night. However, every game in the Premier league presents different challenges because of how opponents set up. The great managers have the intelligence to work out how to deal with the nuances. Us setting up and trying to play like we did against City every week simply wouldn't work.
  20. Agree, turd polishing experts are few and far between.
  21. Maybe he's just not good at managing team's who begin with the letter M.
  22. I know he's gone but I'm still scratching my head and trying to come to terms with how we managed to lose that game. How did we allow ten men to dominate us and cause such panic? If you didn't know you'd have thought we were the team down to ten men. If ever anything demonstrated how out of his depth tactically Mad Nate was it was the last hour of this game.
  23. You'd like to think SR have been planning this? You have far more confidence in them than I do. I'd like to think they'll put identifying and appointing a new manager in the hands of someone who knows about football - that rules out the current set of clowns. Don't know if there's a precedent but maybe they should leave it to someone outside the club on a consultative basis.
  24. I certainly agree that we have no one running the club who has the slightest idea about football which leaves us in a perilous position. Wilcox would probably have more ideas on the managerial front than the current clowns but he is not currently an employee unless I'm mistaken. Like a rudderless ship we have crashed on the rocks and I'm not sure we have anyone at the club capable of steering the ship to a safe haven before it is completely destroyed by the rocks.
  25. All I will say in his defence is you can't blame him for taking the job - you can and should blame Ankersen for offering it to him. He is more to blame in all this shambolic mess than Nathan Jones.
