No chance of him being sacked after a win. The only scenario I see him going is if we play poorly and suffer an embarrassing defeat where we offer little or nothing. Anything else and Rasmus keeps his man in place.
-
Well many of us are calling out the person who employed him after using a raft of data that clearly was misinterpreted in a big way. Jones is being allowed to carry on to avoid damaging some bigger egos at the club.
-
I think this relates to the video of a training session with Nathan Jones wearing a microphone and sounding a bit like a 1960's PE teacher.
-
I'm expecting a similar set-up and game to the debacle that was Nottingham Forest. I think that was the real Nathan Jones at work and let's remember he alone thought that was a good performance. More of the same coming tomorrow I suspect.
-
Can we pin the failure of Nathan Jones on Rasmus? Because from where I'm sitting that was a huge mistake and does not reflect well on his abilities.
-
Well he has to be best at something - clearly he was a shit footballer.
-
Well I'm not sure of his influence at Midtyjlland but I think Phil Giles was and still is the brains at Brentford.
-
I'm convinced we don't have any what I would term football savvy people running the club. If you look at the four guys answering questions at the forum none of them strike me as being too switched on concerning the ins and outs of the game. They don't inspire me that they know what they are doing. Maybe that will change for the better when Jason Wilcox arrives but these four just seem like a bunch of nerds to me.

Spot on. He'll be really dangerous if we get balls whipped into the area around the six yard box where he can get his head or a long leg there ahead of defenders - he has scored a lot of goals like this without barely having to jump. Long balls would be better played to his chest for him to control and bring others into play. Have a feeling Jones will use him in completely the wrong way.
-
Jones is not suddenly going to start getting the results we need to avoid relegation - the only person who believes that is Ankersen.
-
But all we keep hearing from both Jones and Ankersen is how well things are going on the training ground - unfortunately you don't get any points for the work you did on the training ground. Furthermore, if that work is so good why is it not reflected on what we see on the pitch? It's nothing more than, fluff, excuses and bullshit.
-
Listening to it again I am struck by the feeble responses from Ankersen. His pathetic excuse that they see more reference points than we do showing how well Jones is performing is actually insulting people's intelligence. Then, when one fan challenged him to name the specific reference points, the best he could do was mumble something about how well training is going and how good a relationship Jones has with the players - well, none of that is bringing improvement of performances on the pitch or results in case he hasn't noticed. He's clutching at straws rather than admit he's made a monumental mistake.
-
My point is that he's not as clever as he makes out or many believe him to be or why would he appoint Nathan Jones? Right there he loses all credibility with me and ,many others by the sound of it and he exacerbates that by being arrogant enough to allow Jones to continue as though this is some sort of Moneyball film rather than the destruction of our football club..
-
Did you forget that Ankersen is so much cleverer than any of us?
-
Personally I thought he got off quite lightly at the Fan's Forum.
-
He had that break to stamp his brand and style on the team - I'm still waiting to see what that is because so far all I've seen is a manager juggling players and formations resembling a blind man trying to spin plates.
-
My only question from Ankersen's statement would be, how does he know what goes on at the training ground unless he is there to see it? (and I'm sure he rarely, if ever, visits training).
-
Ably assisted by Rasmus Ankersen.
-
Probably been quicker to run home.

I hope someone at the club has managed to sit down with Jones and given him some pointers on handling press conferences. He needs to be told to keep his responses as short as possible, not to mention his achievements at Luton, to smile a bit rather than snarl, not to be chippy and to use us and we rather than they. He should be told not to single out players and apportion blame and to accept some responsibilty himself for defeat without making excuses. If we win he needs to be humble. He needs to be told to avoid contradicting himself or making some of the bizarre statements he made last week. If the fans get on his back during the game he needs to rise above that rather than bite back. None of this will be easy for him but if he continues in the current vein he will further alienate the fan base and provide ammunition for the pundits and press to destroy him.

Not a snowball's chance in hell.
-
Rasmus bleeding clever-clogs Ankersen.
-
You forgot the only new player who will certainly start...Bree.
-
You've just helped Jones script his after match excuse if/when we lose....can hear him now...'Wolves are a great side, they just beat Liverpool 3 nil!'
-
Exactly this. The amount of wool being pulled over eyes and serial bullshitting from Ankersen in particular was mind blowing but clearly he has managed to get quite a few people on side.
