It's looking increasingly likely we'll be enduring the normal tortuous last day desperate scramble to get deals done. Sky will have a reporter at the ground and frequently ask him for updates and he'll waffle on and attempt to generate interest by making out that deals are expected. Eventually all the lights will be turned out at St Marys with nobody signed and fans asking if we can still do loans. Then the club will announce that we had been close to a number of deals but not able to get them across the line but are very happy with the business we've done.

Basically a load of waffle about nothing. 3 days left now. Heading towards a familiar story and the same tired excuses the club make as to why they couldn't land any of their targets. SR, Semmens and Rasmus taking the piss.

Whatever he thinks of the fans he needs to be far less chippy because he does himself no favours. Get the team playing well and getting results and that will do all the talking he needs and fans will quickly get off his back. He is paid a lot of money and, as such, must be big enough to endure criticism without getting all petty and precious.

Could have played one of the youngsters who would have been hard pressed to do worse than AMN and might have gained from the experience. AMN is a waste of a shirt.

Hope Jones hasn't left Lavia too spent to play on Tuesday. Not that I hold out much hope for us but we'll need Lavia at his best.

Stealing a living and Jones should not be giving him game time which any other squad member is more deserving of. Get him out of the club at the first opportunity.

We'll not win the FA Cup so any further progress is a bonus. We need some big performances in the league now but I'm not sure we have the players or the nous because we struggle in even the basics.

Hope Jones got right stuck into them after they got careless and risked giving up a two goal lead.

You would like to think that's a given but we'll probably keep him despite the fact he is clearly poor and not bothered.

We pay people money to scout players. Other clubs like Brighton seem to be able to identify and sign very good players in our price range. It is not impossible but clearly we do not have the personnel with the competence to spot talent.

I think we're risking spending £20 million on a young player who may not be an upgrade on Tella. Completely bonkers.

Agree. What we need and have needed for an eternity is a goal scoring number 9 with some height, power, speed and skill, Another tricky winger will not add much if anything to our collective ability to score goals. Not sure what the thinking is unless we're just saying it's impossible for us to get a decent striker for the money we'll pay so we'll bring in another winger who may create a bit of panic which might lead to more goals. Big gamble and wrong call in my opinion.

It shows arrogance but I'd be pretty confident if I was them. Having said that I'd love nothing more than to see us wipe the smug smiles off the faces of their coaches, owners, players and fans. I'd give us long odds to do it unfortunately but stranger things have happened.

We all know spending will not guarantee our survival - we are in a very sticky situation. However, we have to do something and the general consensus is that we need a goal scorer this window to give ourselves a fighting chance. It might not work but let's at least see SR give it a go instead of the constant prevaricating which has extended from last summer when we were pretty much promised a new striker.

Not sure I share your confidence that we'd see a swift return to the Premier League. It's a dog fight to get to be one of the lucky three that go up. We'll likely float around in mid table.
