  1. Read the threads properly rather than putting words in people's mouths. By the way, I see you are seemingly quite comfortable about possibly losing KWP as you don't think he's been that good and is easily replaced by the multitude of good right backs available. I'd wager you are in the minority there but perhaps you're right.
  2. Who suggested that?
  3. I didn't say KWP was off or that I assume he is. Merely pointed out Spence as a possible option if he does leave. If you have a good source that KWP is happy to stay then that's great news. Let's see what happens.
  4. So he went on loan from Boro to Forest because he has an attitude problem which didn't stop him performing superbly at Forest? He'll be great for Leeds and we should have been in for him if there is any indication that KWP goes in the next few days. There are few better right backs available at the moment.
  5. The optimum word being 'currently'. I'm saying if the club know of any potential transfer of KWP they should be looking at Spence to replace him.
  6. Didn't seem to affect him at Forest.
  7. If KWP is going we should be all over this.
  8. JW will presumably handle transfers and be in contact with RM by telephone. Just hope we don't leave all our business until Friday.
  9. Why would we help Leeds, a promotion rival, get Spence when he should be our own target since he's better than Drameh. Drameh, no Drameh!
  10. I wouldn't count Norwich out, think they'll be right in the mix of clubs chasing automatic promotion.
  11. Would take Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sayki on loan to replace Tella if we could get him. 20 years old and looks a great talent. They'd never agree to sell him so would have to be a loan.
  12. Baz KWP Bednarek Holgate Manning Downes Charles AA Alcaraz Che Fraser
  13. Good luck to crazy Lyanco. He was never dull that's for sure and he didn't hide his passion for the cause even if his actions on the field were sometimes a bit reckless.
  14. And would you want us to be promoted with a squad like their's? I think a balance needs to be struck. Yes, loans are a great idea but, on their own, they are not enough. They should be mixed with players permanently signed by us who have been scouted for their current ability and potential to play at a higher level and who can develop an extra level of loyalty and affinity to the club which may be missing in loan players. We can't expect to have a squad stuffed with loan players and then get promoted and bin them all off and start again, it has to be more structured than that. I get that hopefully it may be possible to get permanent deals for selective players on loan. We are making great strides and, for once, have made a strong start but you can't put all your eggs in the loan basket. We won't get where we want to be without spending a wedge of money, it's not possible. Yes, Dragan will rightly want to recoup some of his losses from last season's poor signings but surely not at the expense of missing out on good players we could sign now without breaking the bank to build a team that evolves and grows over the season. I'm hoping JW and RM are smart enough to steer us through the Championship and back into the Premier league with the basis of a squad that will be able to first survive then establish a firm foothold to give us more chance of avoiding being perennial strugglers. Maybe that's too much to ask and a lot of wishful thinking.
  15. Right, it's been a quiet few days what with the weekend and bank holiday. Only 4 days until the window slams shut now so things should start to ramp up and I'm hoping for a few surprises and a bit of excitement in terms of incomings. I'll probably end up disappointed but you never know.
  16. Not keen on AA as a loan striker, he's proved better in a deeper role on the left and looks to enjoy playing behind Fraser. If Adams is sold we need his replacement in quick and hopefully ready to lead the line next week against Sunderland.
  17. Think if Che goes we need to be buying two strikers so that we have cover. Just the one if he stays.
  18. Look, if you're a Man City fan you'll moan and say not this again. For Saints fans it's more a case of haven't heard this for a while (not so much this season though)
  19. Good money after bad springs to mind.
  20. Almost makes you wonder why Man City spent all that money building a treble winning side when they could have been shopping in the bargain basement bin 🙂
  21. Why don't we just go for Jed Spence who looks the much better option. Leeds have already possibly stolen a march on us with Piroe, we need to be getting in ahead of our competitors not standing back. I get that a lot of this is just football gossip but I hope we are not freeing up a player Leeds maybe don't want so they can go after Spence who should be on our radar.
  22. I think the squad as it stands is pretty strong and gives us a reasonable stab at getting promotion although it will be a relentless slog where we need to make sure we drop very few points. What does worry me is if Che is sold and we don't buy/loan an adequate replacement. Who leads the line out of our current strikers if Che leaves? In fact, even if he stays, I'd say we still need another decent striker as an option because there'll be injuries, suspensions and loss of form to factor in. Still, at least we can enjoy again the feeling we get from winning games and going into them with confidence we'll get something rather than the past few depressing seasons.
  23. Can I ask then why only clubs in the Championship take it seriously? That seems a weird conception to me. Surely either every club has to stick by FFP rules or we agree it's a free for all for everyone.
  24. FFP doesn't seem to stop other clubs spending absolute fortunes every window. Not sure we've spent sufficient previously for it to impact much on us. Could be that I just don't understand the FFP rules or even think anyone particularly bothers to adhere to them.
  25. He'll fit in a treat then 🙂
