  1. Newsflash: I can reveal that I have not been involved in any email discussions with Ivan. See, it's easy.
  2. I already have.
  3. 'The player is in Kenya and has no immediate plans for a quick return. The player will not be railroaded into a move that is not right for him.' = 'I won't make this deal work if I don't get the wedge I'm looking for'.
  4. No, England. You know, en-ger-land.
  5. Wanyama's representative Ivan Modia said: 'It is completely untrue that we are holding talks with Southampton.
  6. And stripes on the shoulders.
  7. Can you imagine what Celtic fans think of that? The great Wanyama, top 5 EPL quality. The reason the top 4 don't want him is cos he's unproven at the top level. Consistently, not just a few games here and there (CL). Same reason why England generally don't look at players outside the PL. The PL is a big step up from the championship and the SPL, and the top 4 is a massive step up again.
  8. If we get him, we get him. If not, there's plenty of others. Move on. I liked the creative aspect of Banega.
  9. Is he better than Morgan? No. Better than Cork? Maybe. 12m is a gamble for sure.
  10. Yeah, this was what I was getting at in post 536 If an agent expects to get paid by the buying club, then surely they have to look as if they've done something to warrant it; something of benefit to the club. I can see how it works for the player; the agent handles all the negations and meetings and phone calls to get the best deal for his client, but really, what do they do for the club? Unless he can say, "look Mr.Cortese, I've sold your club to Victor and I've persuaded Celtic to let him go for 10m rather than 12m. What do you say?", then I don't see what they do for the buying club.
  11. Could be the player backtracking on his original comments by order of The Don.
  12. Why aren't agents paid by their clients, the players? They earn big money after all.
  13. Us? You work for them?
  14. There's some guy on twitter (yeah, I know) tweeting a whole bunch of stuff about this deal. I'll quote this one, but you can look him up for more. 74Promotions: Dear everybody from Celtic/Saints/AFC/LFC. Talks between Saints and Wanyama have NOT broken down at this stage. The end. Just sharing what I've seen.
  15. If its Cardiff for more money or saints, surely there's no question.
  16. Why is it? Twitter is no different to the gossip and banter down the pub. There's potential for BS everywhere you go. Tbh, I'd never heard of wanyama before this (i dont watch scottish football) but the Celtic fans do make me laugh when they spout on about winning trophies and qualifying for the CL. Wanyama would play more games against CL opposition if he played in the EPL than he does playing for Celtic. It may not be the CL but it's clear theres a step up in quality from the SPL to the EPL.
  17. Christ. He does sound like more trouble than it's worth, not that I think we'd have a cat in hell's chance of signing him.
  18. I can actually say I knew that last week
  19. Yep, got that, but the reason I agreed with justmike is that, 1) it's a crappy, blurred photo 2) it shows only part of the shirt, so you can only really tell if some of the details fall in line with what's been said here, basically that it's mostly red 3) until the club reveal the shirt, this is no more the shirt than the mock ups that have been brilliantly created based on info discovered about the shirt. I've really enjoyed the mock ups btw. So, it may or may not be the shirt, and if it is, I can't see all of it, and it doesn't look good laid flat, so I'll just wait and see.
  20. Yes, but some don't even know about it.
  21. Is there any metadata attached to this image? Like, a date?
  22. If this is close, I'd say its probably this without the white stripe down the middle.
  23. Agree. End discussion. Saying that, I think he's a player that needs to play by instinct and not have something else on his mind, such as leading the team. It's true that his form dipped after his injury and he became a father too which perhaps played on his mind, subconsciously.
