Five defenders, five defensive midfielders, 37 0-0 draws and we stay up with 37 points and a goal difference of minus 1 😱

Smart move is to loan a keeper from a top team that we're not expected to beat. The reason being, McCarthy will have to play in two games this season (against the lending team). So we're going to lose. Against Arsenal, for example, we will probably lose twice anyway so it doesn't make any difference.

We win that game with Bazunu in goal. (I'll never say that again)

Livramento starts for Newcastle. Targett on the bench.

Jack Stephens is Lucy Pinder? 😱😱😱

Considering I'd never heard of the guy about 24 hours ago, I have to admit I'm excited by this Lesley signing. He sounds exactly what we need, plus it might enable Shea to go out on loan and get some game time as well. Welcome aboard.

That's a sensible choice from the management. Maybe that's what they foresee.
-
We call him Lesley, he really hates Pompey. 🤦

Lesley Ugochukwu Help me pronounce that surname. Ugo-chuck-wo? Ug-ochuck-woo? Something else?

Poch and Matt Crocker team up again as Manager and Sporting Director of the USA mens team. Slightly surprising choice.

That's great business by Saints tbf. Turned a profit on a player that's surplus to requirements, a decent chunk that can be reinvested on areas of the pitch that needs it (striker/goalkeeper).

Ornstein reporting that Solanke is going to Spurs. So that'll be Bournemouth with a pocket full of money looking to buy a striker too then.
-
No idea. Ask again once we’ve seen him play. So a number 2 so far?

Good to see that a Saints striker is only marginally worse than Man Uniteds

Best news of the summer. Welcome back.

One hour for every minute they spent designing the thing

I'd normally order a knock off Chinese kit for the kids, but I don't think I'd ever bother with that one

Trust me bro

The thing that stood out yesterday was that handballs are now a binary thing. There used to be a bit of nuance (ball to hand etc) but now if the attacking team touch the ball with a hand, it's disallowed, the defending team do it and it's a penalty. Not to say it's right or wrong, but it's different from the way the game has always been played. So if this is here to stay then it should be been communicated to avoid these surprises. The American ref lady on TV last night was saying that proximity is not longer a factor in handball decisions. Imo that's a bit shit, but if that's the rule and it's enforced consistently then they'll even out over the season or something.
