A lot of that about recently. Can't think why.

Survey says we're Bompey's biggest rival....
Crazy Diamond replied to doubleonothing's topic in The Saints
Yawn. Due to their unsustainable spending, their main rivals will soon be Weymouth and Dorchester Town anyway. -
By the way, what was Mr. Fat Bastard ejected for yesterday? I did notice that one steward was actually on the pitch after the equaliser. Bit extreme...

I was imitating those that get it wrong mate. Can't you recognise irony on here?

"You dirty Catalonian bastards..."

Can't wait for the people who read the thread title then think you're being negative and post their reactions...

Bournemouth's mob are quite ridiculous. We give them players and a pitch to play on, yet we're still subhuman to them and deserve a lot of abuse. Can't get my head round that one. We're not their rivals, we never have been. Villa yesterday for reasons I mentioned on another thread. Very bitter, could not accept they were beaten by the better team, did nothing but complain. Reading last season were atrocious. A few fans who thought they were a bit nawty and caused trouble for no reason at all other than they were mentally ill, quiet as the grave until they were ahead, undeserved sense of importance and very arrogant. Couldn't admit they didn't play nice football last season when pushed on the matter. Quite what Brighton's problem is with us I don't know. As long as they're managed by Poyet they're going to be morons, one would suggest. Derby fans' arrogance during the play-off season was incredible. West Ham are up there in the arrogance stakes. Well done on being the 'academy of football' but unfortunately you are the academy of ****s at times as well. Then again, a section of our support make me cringe. The season ticket wavers and those who go round saying "WHERE WERE YOU WHEN WE WERE AT DAGENHAM AND REDBRIDGE? ****ING PLASTICS" every other game.

Yes it was the younger, spottier, oik-ier bunch that were most notable. Chanting '4 - 1 and you still don't sing' all the way back to Southampton Central was interesting. Must have been from the DAVSC - Deaf Aston Villa Supporters Club.

Perfect example of bad defending was from Ron Vlaar yesterday. I noticed it last night on Football First, to say he's ball watching for Puncheon's goal would be unkind to ball watchers. Tony Adams picked it out on Goals on Sunday too.

£7 million to finish sixth. Stoke, who we beat to the last play-off spot, with an inferior side and inferior funds went up automatically the next year. Judge him on his merits. He woefully underachieved.

I heard the Petrov thing and no, I didn't applaud. I didn't know I was required to. Also, if they wanted us to participate, they could have asked. A simple post on here would have done. I saw nothing of the sort. It's a bit stupid to talk about disrespect when they didn't make the effort to gain our respect in the first place. More whiny bullcrap from a set of fans that are incredibly deluded.

Stood at the station yesterday "All their goals were miles offside" "We've blown an easy win there" "Ref let them get away with murder" "4 - 1 and they never sang" "All of our own making, taking Barry Bannan off" So, so bitter.

Stephen Ireland was given the freedom of St. Mary's at times yesterday. It's also down to the fact a few of our defenders can't stop falling over. Clyne and Fonte look like they're playing on ice at times.

Too late Moose. We still think you're a ****. Billy Sharp is still awaiting his apology by the way. -

Let's be fair, these are the fans that were unhappy with Martin O'Neil only delivering fifth place twice and two cup semi-finals. Ronaldo signing for them wouldn't go down well. "United sold him, he can't be that good. Waste of money." -

So they wouldn't have Ramirez? Blimey. -
Cracking goal by Judge. Just need the jury and executioner to finish them off.

Indeed, very accurate. His targets didn't even need to move. Very pleased to hear the very vocal backing for Nigel. Very pleased. -

Yes you're right, I take back 'lots' of long balls, but there were a few on show. Gazzinaga did a fair bit of it, but as we've heard, his distribution is very good, so maybe it's to be expected. -

They do make a very good point, too much diving from us today. I don't want to see it. Also, lots of long balls. Needs must when you've no points, I suppose. -

Must be the only game I've attended where I didn't celebrate a goal. That equaliser meant nothing to me. After the dominant first half, to go 1 - 0 down was shocking, and I wanted nothing but all three points. We got it, happy days. Superb control of the football - I don't like people who hark on about possession stats but 60% to us flattered them in all honesty. We comprehensively outplayed Villa today. I am getting ever more worried however about the fact that our players can't seem to stay on their feet - not through tackling, but just slipping over. Those basic defensive errors that we are continually being told will be ironed out are still there. Clyne and Fonte are always falling over. Clyne was my MOTM personally, and whilst Ramirez was very good, I fear a lot of people got caught up in the hype of seeing our new man start his first Saints game. Clyne was everywhere, tracking back, making last ditch tackles, interceptions, not to mention his goal. Lambert was out of the game at one point and I wanted him subbed. Fair play to him, he got a chance and took it. I should know better than to doubt him...! -
Yep. Pretty much summed up here. What was it, £7 million spent in that summer window? To scrape a play-off place on the last day is poor.

Ha. I ordered online though I'm afraid pedg. Will take up to three weeks apparently.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not having a go at Miller and that record is, as you say, not bad, but really I think that's a poor bit of man management. Smith was a very good goalkeeper, and I remember a lot of us were surprised he was left out of the England squad for the USA tour in 2005 when Crouch got a call up.
-
It was amazing he ever took over, given he had lambasted Lowe for his actions only a few weeks or months before he was appointed. Given the candidates available at the time, I always thought he would be the best choice but we'd never get him. I recall that he was labelled as a manager famous for his passing football, yet all I seem to remember is Davis lumping it up to Rasiak to head down for someone else. It was always a case of half good, half shocking with the results. 6 - 0 win at Wolves, 2 - 0 loss at Southend. The very bizarre S****horpe game at home where we did our best to try and lose but won 1 - 0 sticks in the memory, or the league cup defeat at Notts County. Transfers too, mixed to say the least. Would bring in a proven goalscorer like Rasiak, but also sign Marcelo Sarmiento (I have a feeling that deal was never of his own making, however). He brought in Saganowski who was a revelation, even after Watford had said he wasn't much cop when on trial with them, yet dropped Rasiak who had a formidable record up until Christmas. Kevin Miller brought in to replace at one point a potential England keeper in Paul Smith, and when you think about it, as good as Kelvin has been for us, his stock was amazingly low after his nightmare at Sunderland. With Smith everyone said his confidence was low - bringing in Miller, a guy who was fat as a house wasn't ever likely to make things better for him.
