Good for you LTC. -
Black Children Sledge Funk Group - 'Love is Fair'.

Of course you can. Deppo is kind of right when he says there are no pictures in the book. But the front cover has a big picture of the sun on it.

I've just started reading Solar by Ian McEwan. I loved Atonement, Saturday and Enduring love so I thought I would try the (much hyped) new offering. So far it's pretty good, with McEwan's gorgeous writing style and command of English very evident. The beginning is rather poignant and concerns the breakdown of a relationship from the view of the philandering climate scientist protagonist who becomes the cuckold when his wife has an affair with a much younger, fitter man. I'm only a few chapters in so I'll get back to you when I have finished it.

I have a Sony Bravia X series that is gorgeous. It's a couple of years old now. But things have moved on...... 3D HD is here. Check this out. This is the 40" model but there is also a 60". http://www.sony.co.uk/product/t32-lx-series/kdl-40lx903 Available this month.

Belay that previous order number one. We need to section this nutter.
-
Phew! Thanks for the clarification Spud. I was about to have you sectioned under the Mental Health Act / Section 64b - the collecting of trainers as a hobby or past-time for reasons other than the wearing of said footwear.
-
People collect trainers. FACT! It's a f*cked up world dude.

Thanks for the compliment stardust. Just trying to bring a smile to a few faces. On a serious note, I sat in the upper tier at Wembley for the England v Croatia game and it really wasn't that bad. You aren't aware of the height, and the view is pretty spectacular. The only down side was that we lost that game and failed to qualify for Euro 2008, and I was suddenly filled with a compulsion to find McClown, drag him up to the upper tier and throw the plank off. Fortunately I managed to get to grips with that particular urge although I think some poor fool threw himself in front of the tube that night, thus delaying everyone's departure. Unfortunately it wasn't McClown. -

I remember hearing 'Chimney' on 6 Music a couple of years ago and thinking that it was some obscure early 70s release on the Harvest label. I was surprised to discover it wasn't 'vintage'. Great album.

Not far off. Fly Agaric (Amanita Muscaria) is probably what you are referring to. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanita_muscaria

More wax on the decks.......on a bit of a disco / salsoul tip..... (Being part 3 in a series in which I attempt to prove that Manji's theory that all music should only be listened to in it's original album format is erroneous). Instant Funk - 'I Got My Mind Made Up' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y5QmQAn5gU IMO this is the greatest dance track ever. Utterly filthy and sexy. Larry Levan on the remix. Inner Life featuring Jocelyn Brown - 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oT-fdFe23Zc Possibly the best female vocalist of the last 30 years with Larry Levan's breathtaking mix of this classic tune. All time great. Loleatta Holloway & Dan Hartman - 'Love Sensation' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-31f6V_yqE Is this the most sampled song ever? Could be. And what a classic. First Choice featuring Rochelle Fleming - 'Let No Man Put Asunder' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHhSUJ5Xqp4 Is this the most sampled song ever? Shep Pettibone's original mix is the best. The Clash - 'The Magnificent Dance' Regularly played at the Paradise Garage and the Warehouse. Why? Because it's ****ing gorgeous. NYC Peech Boys - 'Don't Make Me Wait' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcJ5yutn4S4 Heavily sampled garage classic. Dinosaur L - 'Go Bang' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYfUGBfKCPU Arthur Russell producing, Francois Kevorkian mixing. Genius. Mahogany - 'Ride On the Rhythm' (Dub) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-_qhZNykeA&feature=related Finishing off with something a little downtempo to warm you down. Another West End Records classic.

Make that 'sensationalist media' and I am in agreement.

I'm pretty sure that QPR do. I think it was last season that there was an horrendous offside decision that went against us. I think I remember Adam Lallana asking the ref to look up at the big screen and see for himself. Obviously the ref didn't look.

I like you more and more each day.

£10 would be way too high. Heroin users are already paying £10 for an average hit. The point is to make it so inexpensive that the black market would cease to exist. Using pricing as a deterrent to drug use would not work, the only effective tool would be education. A reduction in the levels of crime (and we are talking a huge reduction) would mean more money would be available for education and also effective support strategies for users who want to stop using. There would be so many other benefits to society such as lower council tax bills (less policing), lower insurance premiums, safer neighbourhoods etc. As a policy it is a 'no-brainer' but unfortunately mainstream politics is populated by 'no-ballsers'.
