No different to any other matchday.

In reply to a post on the 1st half thread...... There is a difference between giving the side my support, which i have done since being a nipper up until the present day, and blindly thinking they are performing wonderfully week in/week out. Oh,and having blind faith in the stataticians on here and elswhere.Stats are not the meat on the bones. As i said on the build up thread,i will settle for a 1-0 scrappy win. Just hoped for a little more and to be just a tad inspired for the run in.

Win..... and i will be delighted. Draw.....would be a fairly decent reult away from home and does little damage to our promotion hopes. Lose.......i will be very dissapointed we did not manage to capitalise on what would have been a great opportunity to ease a little of the pressure, and place that on those around us.I would also have questions about the players and management, are upto the task of grabbing 2nd spot,do they have the bottle? the right mindset. Play some lovely football, commanding display and manage that for more than a half a football match, which would probably be the second half as we start so very poorly,.......i will be delighted and surprised.

No Ifs, No Buts, We Have To Win Tomorrow To Go 2nd!!!

Sincerley hope we can capitalise on others failings. For once i would be happy with a scrappy one nil victory with us not firing on all cylinders. Saying that, we have not been firing on all cylinders for a considerable time, yet picking up results. -
Southampton Sheffield Wednesday 1st Half

From back too front, completely bypassing midfield, that is unimaginative. -

Unimaginative would be the term i would use. -
Randy Rhoades, who sadly passed away 29 years ago today. Legendary axeman.

Really no excuses today,we should capitalise for once.

Alan Partridge...... I know lying is wrong, but if the elephant man came in now in a blouse with some make up on, and said "how do I look?" Would you say, bearing in mind he's depressed and has respiratory problems, would you say "go and take that blusher off you mis-shapened elephant tranny"? No. You'd say "You look nice... John" Steve Martin..... “I believe you should place a woman on a pedestal - high enough so you can look up her dress” Robin williams..... "Ah, yes, divorce ... from the Latin word meaning to rip out a man's genitals through his wallet.” Robin williams..... “Ah...so many pedestrians, so little time...”

God forbid we don't gain promotion this season then then.

Some players not in good form at the moment....but we are still winning!
saint lard replied to Firead's topic in The Saints
Pretty much this, although 'sign of a good team' is often over used, more like a team not reaching it's potential. -
From Um Pahars on another thread...... "Would have to agree that a number of players seem to be playing somewhat below their capabilities, but on the plus side once they all start to click and fulfill their potential then hopefully we will go on a decent run until the end of the season finishing a comfortable second. Hopefully recent results will give us a big confidence boost and we can push on from here. But I do think that collectively and individually we have to up our game. Nothing wrong with suggesting we playing under par at the moment and to say we have ground out a few results is a fair observation (and also perhaps the sign of a successful team)." Succinctly put, although i would not completely concur with the 'sign of a good team'...more a manager not getting the best out of one. Apologies to Um Pahars for the plagerism, but thought it summed up my thoughts reasonably well. Will he get pelters.........

Should that be some kind of revelation?,hell no, we should be one of the better sides, yet amazingly we have to be looking over our shoulder at what the likes of peterborough do.And on there budget and resources too. And before you say it,we have to win the games in hand. We will never agree,i say we are not playing to our full potential and you are happy as it is...****e football for a ****e league. Maybe my aspirations for this playing squad is way to high, perhaps it would have been better to have kept some of the cash spent in the coffers. Maybe then we could be overachieving with the likes of Brighton,Bournemouth,Peterborough. Blimey i have missed it all along.....Adkins needs a side with no expectations, resources(the best in this league) to get the best out of them,a'la Scunny.

Ahh,so that's alright then.Do we just carry that logic into the CCC,not hoping to be better than the other ****e football played. And by all accounts we have the best squad in this division,no? And a squad that cost shed loads for this league. Both individually and collectively, couple that with supposedly the great Adkins we are nothing more than...Meh.
