  1. Ha, ah yes that would make more sense. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  2. That seems a lot - I booked flights today for about £240 return from Manchester, albeit with a bit of airline hopping and a change in Cyprus outbound. Even from London I found some fares for no more than £350 return travelling Weds-Sat... Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  3. Conceded penalty and sent off for it on debut. Oops. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  4. Because the last 5-year plan went atrociously didn't it :-/ Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

  10. As above. And JB = Jordan Turnbull :-) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

    U23s

Beat Fulham U23s 1-0 yesterday too, with a few points to note: - Good to see Marcus Barnes and Will Wood back from injury - As suspected, given that he remained with the first team seems like Alfie Jones has now surpassed Jordan Turnbull in the CB pecking order. When you factor in McCarthy and hopefully Wood too, hard to see a future for JB here now... - Gape played - not wanted by Yeovil then? - Will Britt also played, even though I thought he was on the released list a couple of months ago? May have imagined that though... http://mobile.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/20160730-u23s-report-southampton-1-0-fulham-3215488.aspx Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  12. 'Possibly right-hand' = 'Possibly play right-back', oops Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  13. Yeh probably unlikely, just wonder if Claude would want to make a positive statement about youth early on, and no real gaps elsewhere for Reed etc. Stephens could possibly right-hand... and with a view to second game, he did pretty well at Old Trafford last year in midfield for Middlesbrough... 14. It's dull on here at the moment so let's try and predict team for first game of the season. Think Jose and Cedric will still need a week or two by then so I'll go with: Fraser Cuco/newbie, Stephens, VVD, Bertrand Romeu, Davo/newbie, Clasie Redmond, Long, Tadic Subs: Gazza, Yoshi, Targett*, Reed*, JWP, J-Rod, Austin (Displaced by Cuco/Davo as applicable) Jack Stephens is my wildcard entry ;-) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  15. The point is Toby would still have played in his preferred position of centre back (as proven by his subsequent time at Spurs), and Reed in midfield. Ronald preferred to put Yoshi in and disrupt balance of team instead. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  16. He could have played Reed in midfield instead of Toby a fair few times last season. Even Poch didn't do that with Toby, even when Dier was out (and even though he arguably should have as Wimmer is miles better than Mason!) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  17. If it's good enough for "No Plan B" Poch... ;-) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

  20. Always had respect for Sam Wallace as he was the only journo who actually looked beyond the #meltdown madness of 2 years ago, and put forward the contrary argument. He was with the Indy then too. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  21. Thought his only future with us would be if we made Europa League. We have, but appears he's still off. I more than trust Ron, so all the best Juanmi old chum. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  22. I remember from Herning not to take you on in a post-match game of pool sir [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  23. Actually I'm overthinking it aren't I, if Palace won the cup then 7th wouldn't mean a European spot so wouldn't matter what Liverpool do in Europa final I.e. 6th is fine regardless. A Utd cup win and West Ham 7th would still be good though as straight to group stage then! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  24. Thing is IF we finish 6th we still need to hope West Ham finish above Liverpool - think I'm right in saying that if we're 6th, Liverpool 7th, Palace win FA Cup, and Liverpool win Europa, that 6th wouldn't get Europa (I.e. 5 CL spots and 2 Europa which would be 5th place and Palace)... right? 25. When he danced through and had a shot saved at start of second half he also did us a favour by staying on his feet, as on the replay can clearly see Clasie clips him by the D, which may even have been a second yellow. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
