  1. OMG, you're a bag of Christmas cheer! Or, as most would view it, a plain and simple flight up North. Not much hassle, less time sat on a coach and in traffic. I don't see why sitting in a departure lounge would damage someone's fragile ego or sap their energy any more than sat in a traffic queue on a motorway would make someone suicidal and a bag of nerves...A bizarre post. I dunno, maybe some people are much more delicate and mentally fragile but even our modern day footballers should be able to endure a "arduous" flight of an hour or so! I'd certainly prefer it to a potential 5-7hr coach journey sat in rainy queues at roadworks or in accident tail backs! Or, struggling to understand your bizarre post! Has little logic. I apologise if that seems confrontational or antagonistic. Just perplexed by your posts. Hope you're feeling ok (not sarcasm intended).
  2. Whilst we could employ Derren Brown to help get into the minds of the opposition and work his magic mind tricks on our own squad, I'd like to think we will play football and have more of a hard "fought" draw. In fact, I'd like it to be a battle on the pitch which resulted in a win and 3 points (that's what I expect!)
  3. EXACTLY as I just posted (re: Morgan and Lambo comments, even Waigo - hadn't read your comments but glad to know they're opinion's shared! However, not sure about James replacing Morgan but could work. Morgan has been gash and certainly needs dropping, if only as an incentive to improve/competing for places. I do think Connolly could hold his own on his own up front although aerial may be a problem (which means, stop HOOFING it!) and use his pace/play it along the turf (as we should do anyway - take note centre halves, Lloyd...most of the back 8!)
  4. Forgot: if 4-4-2 Davis Murty/James - Thomas - Jaidi - Harding Waigo - Hammond - Schneiderlin - Lallana Connolly - Lambert Subs: James, Melis, Mills, Antonio, Wotton, Trotman, esq.
  5. If the players adopt the same attitude as the knee jerk fans (I'm hoping your comments are more tongue in cheek! LOL), then we're beaten already. I am hoping they have more resiliance. Swindon away was a different team/mentality/early days and one of the worse away games I've ever witnessed (Everton away wasn't much fun when Kevin Campbell walked through our defence & we get hammered 4-1!) http://www.4thegame.com/matchcentre/premiership/reports/76542/efcsfc.html (for the few of you that may want reminding!) I hope Murty can get some fitness back and I would like to see Lloyd at centre back so he regain some confidence. However, this will be unlikely with Lloyd needing to offer cover (or to be replaced) for Murty. Personally, I would play: Davis Murty (if fit) - Thomas - Jaidi - Harding James (or Wotton if James needed for Murty cover) Waigo - Hammond - Lallana - Mills Connolly Subs: Lambert (if needing of a rest to get over his flu/psychological advantage), Antonio (for Waigo), Melis, Trotman, etc. Shows, we definitely need a ball winning/defensive centre midfielder (esp. for me to have to field Wotton - ideally, 2 x centre midifelders or 1 if James can deputise and we bring in cover at RB for Murty!) & better quality wingers.
  6. So, if you could go back in time, you would remove Pearson (study recent track record to help clarify the point), & still appoint 2 Dutch nobodies from the Wilderness & alienate all your senior pros & force the manager to play largely inadequate youth team players with almost zero experience?! F*ck me, some people have a twisted logic! More so when you consider any questioning of the most idiotic doctrine & chairman in Saints history is answered by the inane "no money" line which was peddled to obscure a multitude of sins! You couldn't make it up! Unbelievable. You're the football forum equivalent of a Nick Griffin supporter!
  7. Kelvin had his chance to go to West Ham, yet held out and remained a Saint. Hardly the behaviour of a keeper that is looking to leave. If anyone would have been forced out, it would have been the remaining handful of half decent senior pros left from the L**e era (I don't even like typing that w*nker's name!) Davis is not going anywhere and, as S Clarke says, he's here for the duration now. We've ridden out the storm, hit rock bottom, things are only on the up.
  8. I don't purport to be a football expert whereas Lancashire does have a professional football contract. Subtle difference! He's had a chance in my books. He wasn't good enough and we are not in the position (esp. starting with -10 points) to, nor have the time and luxury (as any team in any competitive league imho) to bed in inadequate players...particulartly in defence. Or did you not learn anything from last season?!
  9. I'd have stood up and claimed "THAT'LL BE ME THEN!" and then put my hand out to introduce myself. Having said that, with Leon's short stature, maybe it wasn't so wise. Or, added "Have you got a problem with that Sweaties?!" It would have been funny and shut them up!!
  10. Yeah, you keep telling yourself that. Have you watched him in games? Or, have you forgotten?! At 20 years old, you can see if they're going to make it or not. He, sadly, doesn't have the key attributes to make a good centre half: Positioning, Heading, Tracking, Anticipation and reading of the game. All, imho, awful.
  11. I think you'll find Bungle likes to talk sh*t, antagonise and bait people on here! Obviously the only way he can get people to listen to his bizarre opinions!
  12. Lallana was terrible on the wing, continually leaving Harding exposed (as Mellis does when he attacks and never tracks back!) by cutting in which has happened all season. We need a wide man to sit on the touchline. All our forward play emanated from the right wing. I agree with you on both points, Morgan was awful, miscuing passes, lightweight and anonymous for most of the game. No protection whatsoever to the p*ss poor back 4. Still, I see there's this thread calling for the change back to 4-5-1. Love the irony! I wonder how many of the people on here demanding Pardew change to 4-4-2 from the kick off have commented, made a complete U-turn or gone completely silent?!
  13. Good he's been found out. Useless manager that has much to answer for with his limited success that people seem to exaggerate into Burley being some sort of Football Messiah who won the treble! STRANGE!?! Deluded people like SOG continue to defend him merely for reaching the play offs yet look at the players he had at his disposal (the supposed talent), the money spent and the sheer lack of discipline & control in managing the first team and the demotivated and demoralised players (and those pushed out in "mysterious" circumstances - performing players like Pele, Rasiak, Viafara - one min, playing regularly, next....dropped!). Burley left the club in a much, MUCH poorer state than when he arrived (running on a crash course and him bailing saved him more turmoil as fans were rapidly losing patience) and anyone who just looks at the stats and claims he did well for us is, quite frankly, an idiot! Think outside the box and try and engage some logic and sense!
  14. Very sad, especially pertinent after similar news for my own father (who has a short timescale due to his condition). My heart goes out to Paul, his family and friends. Good luck!
  15. I will be there despite the odd time. This is the type of game we should be winning and I expect a 3-1 to Saints. Hammond, Lambert & Connolly.
  16. You've been playing too much Football Manager on the pc!
  17. Yes, it's 1 min behind but if you watch HD Sky anyway, you may notice HD is approx. 4 secs or so behind the conventional Sky Sports channel. I noticed this sometime back when on the phone to a friend in a pub - when a goal went in during the match (forget who was playing) the pub cheered, then I noticed the delay as the striker on the screen scored a few seconds later. Weird! Each to their own. I'd prefer to watch the match at St Mary's but, failing that (when I have my son in bed and no baby sitter), in the comfort of my own home in HD on a large screen. However, having the technology to watch a game you would otherwise miss on your phone (for instance, at a wedding, work seminar/working away, at a friends who doesn't have Sky, holiday, abroad, etc.) or to merely check results is a great feature on the iPhone. Not everyone has the luxury of fitting the life around football so it's a brilliant and versatile tool which many people will relish.
  18. According the person I spoke to from Sky there is not a 150, 000 limit. Maybe just a ploy to get people moving for the offer. Good service though, great picture. Didn't say it was for Blackberry's (as stated in the title). Merely intimated that I was aware many fans post from games on the iphones and Blackberries.
  19. I thought the unique codes O2 were sending out were wrong initially & had problems but I couldn't remember the text no. so thank you for that. Text that instead then & use the code instead of mine. I think Sky may have misled me with their feedback. Still, a great service! Thanks again.
  20. I wasn't sure whether to put this in the lounge, software section or here. As it could result in some Saints fans being able to catch Brighton live on their iPhones this Sunday (I'm aware many post from reserve/away matches on their Blackberry/iPhones) if they are in a WIFI zone, then it seems rude not to share. If you type the code: 4XMEWE0 in at the Sky mobile T webpage when you set up an account, you'll get 3 free months service of Sky Sports & Sky News direct on your iPhone. http://mobile-tv.sky.com/skyplayerservice/mobile/web/subscription/landing Sadly, it's not possible to view the channels utilising the 3G network so the service is limited to wifi zones but it's still feckin' cool. You need to be a Sky subscriber too I believe. Once you've been on to the App. Store & downloaded & installed the BSKYB Mobile TV app on your iPhone, you'll need to open the application, log in with your Sky Mobile TV username & password (ensuring you have a wifi connection), then open any of Sky Sports channels (even ESPN) or news & you're away. PLEASE NOTE: You'll need to log in to your Sky a/c (or create one if u haven't before) & fill in credit card details but the trial 3 months are free with the code above (PLEASE ALSO NOTE THE INITIAL CODE O2 SENT OUT VIA SMS DID NOT WORK - This was from the texting " SKY" to the Sky SMS No.) Tested it tonight with Saints v Charlton & the sound & picture quality is very good. I'm impressed anyway!
  21. I think having lived in Southampton my entire life, realising the great potential of the city, followed by partaking in a career in the building/engineering sector and patiently waiting for something exciting to happen, I have every appreciation and many ideas on how a town could be sensibly developed. Sadly, the planning department that shape the future for the quarter of a million residents in Southampton have other ideas. Yes, but stating that "Gunwharf is in its infancy" is hardly a great defence. All developments have to start somewhere. Judge by popularity. Despite the delays and the fundamentally flawed design of the lift on Spinnaker, Gunwharf has been a great success and has rejuvenated the area. The layout and design is sound, flats nearby but with a well thought out shopping zone (outlets) and separate food/drinking zones. A strategy Southampton planners seem to have struggled to comprehend. That explains your defence. However, I am sure many cities have poor planning departments. That factor doesn't mean that our standards are acceptable. Just driving around Southampton alone is enough to make even the most patient driver cry (re: the ridiculous mantra to stick traffic lights in just about every traffic hot spot possible). Praising the LPA is Certainly not a view shared by me and many of my peers. Sorry about that.
  22. ...and bore people senseless hijacking threads and talking about the tediously boring sport on a football forum! :-(
  23. Wow! They must be so relieved after such condescending smugness. Often wondered if some of the admin drive open topped, black Mercedes with Alsatians in the back when I read comments like this!
  24. Played multiplayer tonight & I have come to realise, 8hrs engineering & concentration, being in my 30s & having spent 16+ pretty heavily drinking...well, it doesn't prep you well. I used to be better on COD 4/5 but my reactions are numbed after staring at a screen & concentrating all day (may be age too!) & struggling to keep a positive kill ratio. Had 7 kills, 9 deaths. Some in positive but finished tonight 1/2/3 kills 13/14 deaths so giving up tonight. P*ssing me off now. Can't shoot anyone without getting instantly caned by the nearest nerd without a pickled brain (or social life!) I'm too old for this sh*t! My ratios aren't what they were...definitely age!! Last Modern Warfare I kicked arse. Now, feel hopeless! :0(
  25. Got my copy after a ridiculous queue in Asda! Why? Good game, don't get me wrong, but why did I chose to queue with a bizarre bunch of male adolescents that seriously look like they need to get laid (rather than stroking one off to the pixelated images of Lara Croft?!) for almost an hour on a school night?! Furthermore, trying the game out in single & multiplayer was never going to be a 5 min browse so 3hrs sleep, then a full day of (now even harder) work. I'm my own worst enemy at times! Still, saved myself a few quid from the full price. Now...sleep! zzzzzz
