If you don't mind me asking, how did you manage to get in every week as a non member? Did your mates ring in advance to say you were coming, or did the door staff just turn a blind eye? It always felt to me like a "If your face fits" kind of place, full of regulars who probably never paid a penny to join but had no problem getting in.

I was a member for about 3 years and jacked it in a couple of years ago. Absolute joke of a place, no redeeming features whatsoever. The final straw was the ridiculous rules about signing people in. 4/5 years ago the guys on the door where fine and it wasn't a problem if I turned up with a couple of mates to sign in as they knew I was a paid up member. We all had a couple of beers and everyone was happy. Then one season I paid up again and they decided if you wanted to sign anyone in you had to contact the club in advance and tell them who and how many etc. I was told this was to do with "Fire regulatons". I lost count of the number of times I was turned away from the door when the place was empty because I hadn't advised of them of my "guests". My advice is don't bother with the place.

Good on you Mr Crump, I applaud your actions. I have no idea who is charge of marketing at SFC but whoever it is should be sacked as they couldn't possibly be doing a worse job. As The9 said earlier, those who say this is the way a business should be run these days should take a look at how other companies treat their customer.. Supporters or customers, either way we are treated poorly IMO. "If" I decide to renew in my little 2 week timeslot, I shall be parking on the road and going nowhere near the shop.

Would you pay to park in Sainsburys or Tesco every time you did your food shop? These are "customers" spending around £500 with the club and in a carpark which has plenty of spaces in the close season or midweek. Would it be too much for the club to give you a ticket for the machine if it was clear you had used the ticket office or the store? NO it would not.

I can't believe some people use the "It goes to the club" excuse. Next time you get to the end of the month and you haven't spent all your wages, why not send the club a cheque? After all any money that "goes to the cub" must be a good thing. There is no way supporters should be charged for the privellege of actually turniing up to give te club their business, they have removed the ability to use the instalment plan online or by phone, so those that want to ue it have no choice but to go there. The bigger the queue the more you'll pay for parking. I don't care if it's 10p they're asking for, it's the principle. Thanks again for your ever worsening customer service SFC.

I think you've misunderstood him. By "destryoyed" I think he means they were really good. Saying that I think they're one of those bands that smashes their instruments up at the end, which I think is a waste.

October 2012 will be when you can book your ticket. You can either pay a deposit or the whole lot. Balances are normally due around Feb time if I recall.

This year was the first I've missed in 8 years. Had loads of people trying and had no luck whatsoever. That's what I'm worried about for 2013, after a 2 year break everyone will be more desperate than ever. I don't want to contemplate waiting 3 years and then missing out again.

I'm thinking maybe the best way round all this dodgy beer at St Marys is to just stay in the pub. Let's face it, it would save a walk from town and back and you're only gone for 90 mins. Hardly seems worth leaving.
