  1. Ha. I'm certainly not saying that everyone who is Indian is like that as verbal likes to think I do. He mistakenly believes I am prejudice in some way towards minority groups which is quite frankly laughable. Everyone is welcome in my business no matter who they are. However, as I said certain minority groups have no interest in integration and that is where the problems start. Even the polish people I work with state the same thing. Verbal assumes it is something I do despite knowing nothing about me, how I live my life or any of the people involved. I have a great working relationship with people in general including many born in India. My only issue is with those who dont want to associate with other cultures or try to learn anything about Britain. This is particularly true about those who do not speak any English. In my opinion this should be a basic requirement for coming into the country.
  2. Seeing as you know nothing at all about my real life, I would stay quiet. I certainly wouldn't think that what I write on here is anything to do with how I am in real life. I get on well with a number of minority groups. The polish individuals I work with are extremely friendly but in my experience, certain minority groups have no interest in integration and they can come across as rude and hostile as a result.
  3. If you weren't getting any you would change your tune.
  4. People who come from other cultures do not always change our culture for the better. That is plainly rubbish.
  5. Nothing wrong with that. My real world experience is that quite a few minority groups tend not to be very sociable and make no attempt to integrate at all. My dealings with families from India for example have largely been negative with them quite unfriendly and in some cases rude an hostile when they have been the ones in the wrong. I don't actually blame these families completely because sometimes they are unaware of British ways of doing things. Those who have read previous posts know what I do.
  6. Well from my experience, if a foreigner does not speak English and lives here, they find themselves very isolated and make little or no attempt to learn about Britain or its culture. I don't think that's right personally.
  7. It was the dell days original jokey comment coupled with Andy's predictably serious reply. Yes I hardly ever laugh out loud reading this forum.
  8. Your edit at the bottom just made me laugh out loud for one of the first times ever on here. Good job.
  9. Very much so
  10. When was Carroll either a top premier league or champions league striker?
  11. Hardly. I would hope we were making similar preparations should we get promoted.
  12. Very true but seeing as west ham tried for everyone in January, it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to get Rickie in. if we stay down and they go up then I wouldn't hold a grudge if he wanted a shot at the premiership.
  13. Could well happen if we don't go up.
  14. But do you not agree trousers that it is ok to be unimpressed by a player who then has a subsequent upturn in form? I don't think that applies here as lee has done well IMO but I can see the point of view. It would only prove the poster who was unimpressed wrong if they had predicted that the poor form in their eyes would continue.
  15. No one has me on ignore to my knowledge. Unless you are in pm dialogue with a number of posters about me (which would be extremely weird but not something that would surprise me) then I don't know how you could possibly know that either. The majority of 'stick' as you put It comes from the same four or five posters: buctootim, yourself, gingeletiss, thedelldays (who just likes to take the opposing view for the sake of an argument) and smirking saint. Two of those are on ignore and have been for sometime. It makes the messageboard a lot more readable. Thankfully, the vast majority are able to debate sensibly and without following a poster such as myself around the board and deliberately trying to bait them. The likes of spudgun, minty, old nick and trousers are examples of long term posters who funnily enough are able to disagree with me and address the points raised in an argument without resorting to the troll-like rubbish that the five I mentioned routinely come out with.
  16. Indeed it is hilarious victor. Avenue saint has no self awareness and has made himself look a bit simple as you said.
  17. . Indeed...
  18. This except that I do mean offence by it.
  19. I quite agree. I think we have to remember that it is a big upheaval to come all the way over here and so I reckon he can only get better. He has contributed well so far and helped us to achieve some impressive results. I like him a lot so far.
  20. What a complete cretin. Sending someone messages who has them on ignore. Simpleton.
  21. Absolutely my feelings too. I've been impressed with how well he has adapted and would much rather have him up front away from home than Guly.
  22. Mostly the self confessed WUM TDD and you. I'm not exactly going to lose much sleep because you don't have a great opinion of me. In fact, considering the majority of your responses I consider it somewhat of a compliment.
  23. Absolutely nothing wrong with making an initial judgement about a player based on rival fans who have seen him play. Plenty of times I have done similar and the comments have proven to be accurate. It just so happens that this time this was not the case. One example is Jonathon Forte. S****horpe fans thought he was not very good and they were proven correct, despite our scouts and manager with better football credentials thinking he was worth giving a long term contract too. Asking other fans is a quick and easy way to get an initial opinion about a player before you see him play. My initial opinion was based on that and I see no harm in having that stance, even if subsequently those opinions turn out not to be accurate.
