  1. Yes but if you assumed that he wouldn't sign then you wouldn't have been bothered when inevitably he didn't.
  2. I'm working on the assumption now that we won't get any of these quality players we are linked with and will go for more of a gamble or lesser quality. That way if we do get any of them I will be pleasantly surprised.

So then they did beat us to the signing...

But we can still have a genuine team spirit with the right top signing as well. Signing a great player doesn't mean the team spirit disappears necessarily.
  5. I think also that with the sale of aoc we now have the finance to being someone in of better quality.

I think he would be a decent signing for a good price. Sounds like he has the attributes we are missing and unlike cb, it wouldn't be so much of a risk to bring in potential.

You misunderstand me. I meant bottom of the lost of strikers I would want.

Waghorn would have been at the bottom of the list of strikers we have been linked with for me. I think there are better options. Ah well.
  9. A fair post and most likely true.

He used him as an example of a player who was linked to various clubs. he was linked to those two and I saw no links to clubs of a higher standing than ourselves.

Clubs like burnley and Blackpool who are worse than us by a distance. West ham are a different matter. I don't think it is necessarily our fault this one if he doesn't sign, but I am concerned by the amount of transfers that get close only for it not to happen.
  12. This has been posted in the gorkss thread yesterday.
  13. It wasn't a snide dig at all. I wondered if what he said was based on any knowledge as he seemed so certain. Wind your neck in.
  14. No it isn't. Just ignore him or he will keep doing it
  15. Stop feeding the troll people.
  16. We have signed plenty of players who have been widely reported beforehand. Nc would have to be some sort of idiot to pull out because of that and there is no evidence for it. Thats why it is rubbish.

What sort of striker is he?
  18. I'm sorry but that's rubbish.
  19. And your mate heard it from...
  20. Yeah but Manchester United. One of the most successful and professional clubs in the world. As I said, at any rate I doubt any transfers have ever broken down because they have to sing karaoke when they join.
  21. I think it may be a bit of an overreaction. I have heard that man united do something similar and I imagine there are other clubs who do the same thing. I highly doubt it would be a deal breaker and if someone really REALLY didn't want to do it they would probably be let off.
  22. I thought Rodriguez was quite pacey. May be wrong though.
  23. Unfortunately your capacity for proper discussion is extremely limited and you are one of the worst on here for refusing to respect the views of others. Thankfully I care little for your opinion about my 'young mind' as you put it. I am content with the knowledge that I am able to debate sensibly with those who wish to do so. You inability to do this and instead resorting to fake laughter and insults says a lot more about your state of mind. The very fact that you regard me as a WUM suggests to me that you are totally unable to respond sensibly and so would prefer to write me off as a WUM because it is easier than trying to enter into some sort of civil discussion. Again I encourage you to put me on ignore or stop replying to me as I will endeavour to do to you. I doubt anyone has any desire to watch you spout a stream of insults directed at me and would prefer to debate the relevant issues which is surely the point of a forum.
  24. Guly is not being utilised as a striker and I don't think Barnard would walk into most sides (and is supposedly injured at the moment.) Besides, pace up front is what we are missing and none of those give us that option to change a game.
  25. I agree about priorities (which is why I was underwhelmed by the injured Fontaine when we had just spent 2 million on Fox). I'm not sure about silly money. It depends on your definition of silly. If a striker of real quality is available which significantly boosts our promotion chances, then I would say it is worth a large initial outlay, especially with the AOC money available.
