I think gorkss and Rodriguez would really improve us though I accept it is a matter of opinion. If nothing else it gets rid of the only real weaknesses in the squad and could be the difference this year.

Rodriguez and gorkss would have been perfect IMO and if the rumour about Adkins having a little tiff with cortese were true I can see why. Maybe we will stil get Jay rod (hope so.) but will be tough to get a proven cb like gorkss who wants to play in the npc.

Yes but if you assumed that he wouldn't sign then you wouldn't have been bothered when inevitably he didn't.

I'm working on the assumption now that we won't get any of these quality players we are linked with and will go for more of a gamble or lesser quality. That way if we do get any of them I will be pleasantly surprised.

So then they did beat us to the signing...

But we can still have a genuine team spirit with the right top signing as well. Signing a great player doesn't mean the team spirit disappears necessarily.
