Supply and demand. Young talented English players always sell for a lot more than others. Just look at shearer all those years ago. It's bot really ridiculous to buy Rodriguez for six million because if he continues to progress as seems likely, he will be worth a lot more and any clubs buying him from us in a few years will be paying over the odds then due to his nationality. It's the way it is.

Yep that is the point, not the lack of a centre back, but an inability to close out deals appears to be a bit of a problem and I do wonder if this has hampered our progress in the transfer market to a degree.

People are forgetting that the Latvian poster on here who has been speaking directly to Gorkss says that this is not the case.

Yes I think it would be worth it TBH. We won't have lost any money after our OC windfall and it will significantly boost our promotion chances- something worth about 90 million. Coupled with the fair play rules coming in, this may be our final chance to use our financial muscle to strengthen. Once we are in the prem, players like Jay Rod would no doubt cost more, so it is worth getting them in now to develop with us.

You keep saying this Pilchards and whilst I think you are a decent poster, it just doesn't seem likely. We were looking to sign Fontaine today and that just doesn't seem like a signing to blow our minds and we haven't got close to a really great signing like Maynard and Rodriguez. No it isn't. Many posters other than me have been shouted down for not towing the party line. I post less on positive threads because there is less to debate about good news and also I am rarely responded to on thos threads. When I get abuse on here am I not allowed to respond?

No they haven't. Time and again posters are shouted down for having an opinion which differs from the stock one. I have no agenda and post positive and negatives when I see them. See my post above where I point our a number of positive posts and also my praise of the capture of Cork.

CB Fry said that you are allowed an opinion of a player based on conjecture from other teams forums along with other small bits of evidence etc as long as that opinion is a positive one. If you give a positive opinion then it isn't questioned whereas if you give a negative one or wonder whether they are the best option, you get shouted down or told you are not allowed an initial opinion. That is what he said.
