We have so far. If we fail to do it in one game it's not exactly the end of the world considering we are top of the league.
-
Why do you always overreact? Even if we draw this game and have an off day it isn't the end of the world.

He's been injured since Pompey hasnt he? With a broken toe?

Lukas Jutkiewicz.... is he worth signing?
hypochondriac replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
I have heard we were never in for lukas. He is desperate to come to us and has been trying to get a move since we were in league one. We have turned him down every time. -
Get stuffed mate. I'm in Newton Abbott and dot have time to look on here all the time. I routinely give the club praise for positive news. Fonte is my favourite player and I have said so on many occasions. I said he was the last player we needed to tie down so delighted that we have.

It was Natasha.

Of course it is. Well done to all involved for that. I just think that the likes of crab lungs likes to Invent things that suit his agenda. I was simply setting the record straight but we move on.
-
Also how is what I said any different from saying a player sounds fantastic but I'm prepared to see what he is like first? (something I have said about numerous players down the years). Certain posters only get irritated because they only like opinions that are happy clappy.
-
Yes but it was a very small minority. Actually read the thread and you will see that hardly any actually write him off before seeing him play. I see that even on the first page crab lungs has tried to start the 'posters writing him off myth' that I tried to dispel back then. A few months later and he is at it again. I have changed my mind, crab lungs' contributions have got markedly worse in the last few years which is a shame because he used to be brilliant and a great laugh.
-
No it is not. Again you try to peddle this myth. I said he sounds pretty awful (which if you read the opinion of people who had seen him play was true) but I was prepared to see him play! That is not a knee jerk reaction. Knee jerk would be writing him off as awful before he had played. I did not do that.
-
What do you mean jumping on the bandwagon? Could it not be that this is what people honestly think? I mean sure no need to go overboard by saying he was awful or anything, but he didn't have the greatest of games. No harm in telling it like it is.
-
No they made a pre judgement about a player based on the evidence available. At the time only ONE poster (I counted) dismissed him as sh*t, most said they were underwhelmed or that it sounds rubbish but that they were prepared to see him play and change their minds. Nothing wrong with that ever and just as I have been excited about a signing who turns out to be rubbish, so have I been underwhelmed by someone who has turned out great, like in this case. That is football and there is nothing wrong with that.
-
No one wrote him off based on Celtic fans. Many many posters have been trying to dispel this myth from the moment it started. No one wrote him off before he had played for us, doesn't matter how many times someone says it, it won't get through.
-
The point is that you had no evidence that he had played badly, since you admit yourself that you haven't been to away games. I challenged your assertion that de ridder was rubbish using the evidence of my own eyes from watching him in quite a few away games. You used the fact that de ridder was not selected for one away game to say that people who rated him were 'mongs' and 'clowns' despite the fact you have never seen him play away so can't really have an opinion on all his performances this season. Well done de ridder, glad to see he is showing certain posters up.
-
Coventry he was OK but not great. He was good at Ipswich and Leicester. I didn't do derby.
-
Come on now, you arent deriously cpmparing guly with MLT are you???
-
I agree, but I do think playing guly away hasn't helped matters. It's almost like he is surprised sometimes when opposing players have the temerity to close him down quickly.
-
I think that is te crux of the matter. A general theme I have noticed is that people are generally more charitable if they haven't been to a lot of away games. Having done most of them this year, I think you see how poor guly can be more frequently. I really think we should consider something different away.
-
I agree with you. I just noted with interest once I got back that when he scored, a host of posters were quick to start pouring scorn on those who had expressed their frustration at him in recent weeks, as if scoring a couple of goals somehow negated previous poor performances or rendered them less poor somehow. It's a really odd attitude.
-
Odd that Adkins played him today if he thinks like you do. I think if you are looking for clowns you should look a bit closer to home.
-
I see de ridder had a god game today (as he has done a few times this season.) Any comment to make my friend?
-
The people not giving Guly the credit for two very well taken goals are idiots. Equally, the people having a go at those who think he was dreadful last week and didn't do much except the goals this week are also idiots.
-
Come on crabs, I think you're a pretty good poster. I know you don't want to lower yourself to this kind of idiocy. You're better than that.
-
Worst atmosphere this year by a long way. We won though so I don't care.
