  1. In fairness I can't recall that bit. I was paying close attention to him for most of the evening and with my mate we discussed what he had just done every time he got the ball. I think there were maybe 2 good things in the 2nd half when he won two corners. Virtually everything else that I remember was head in hands or chuckling to yourself stuff. I genuinely think he was really bad and one of if not our worst player on the pitch. Having said that he was playing out of position and it is early days. I hope he improves!
  2. The poor attendance was due IMO to the pricing structure, the fact it was midweek and the Pardew thing (oh and the fact it was the JPT.) I think we have a very p*ssed off fanbase right now.
  3. Amazing how wildly opinions can vary about players.
  4. Puncheon seemed a lot better than Guly. Are you sure you weren't getting confused between the two?
  5. Also he seemed really lazy. No desire to run or chase the ball. I hope he improves.
  6. So better than Guly I never said they were good, just better than Guly.
  7. Most of the team were awful last night but for me he was the 2nd worst players behind Jaidi. 75% of the time he gave the ball away or it went out of play. So people better than him last night: Davis, Butterfield, Fonte, Harding, Dickson, Chamberlin, Hammond, Schneiderlin, Barnard On second thoughts I'll give you Lambert who was equally poor.
  8. Wow. Just wow. I mean he was played out of position but to actually say he was one of our best players last night... Words fail me.
  9. Maybe the Martin thing has some sort of substance? (I know people close to him on here say it is untrue.)
  10. Nope you are wrong. They were affected by Pardew's sacking (and Fonte was our best player not Barnard with Chamberlin not far behind.)
  11. What irritates me is the inference that everyone who doesn't praise and support Cortese completely is fickle or unintelligent.
  12. Success can be achieved without this approach. Many successful clubs are an example of this.
  13. I don't think it was lack of commitment, they just looked shell shocked. Do you really think they looked unaffected by the sacking? thinkthat was the primary reason for the performance they put in.
  14. Wes, the body language of the players and the manner of their performance suggested to me that the sacking of Pardew had affected them. They played in a very different manner to the other games I had watched this season.
  15. We don't know that. Isn't that what some people said about Duncan's predictions. I'm not going to be so quick to dismiss it and I await the team news on Saturday with interest.
  16. Hmm. He has slagged off saints a lot in the past though and said he would never join us.
  17. Why though. After quite a few posters had to eat humble pie recently I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss. He did after all say he heard it from the family.
  18. Makes sense. Going on tonights showing, also shows how correct Pardew was.
  19. Some people didn't like him. Without knowing the reasons why though the quote is meaningless.
  20. I seriously don't think it's him.
  21. No idea but I don't think it's him.
  22. But I can't think of any answers he can give that can explain away all his actions this summer and which are satisfactory enough for me to feel better about SFC.
  23. Kubrick without a doubt.
  24. TBH I don't really want to hear what he has to say. What could he possibly say to change how disconnected I currently feel from the club? How could he make me feel like Southampton is the club I grew up with and fell in love with? I hate what football has become and I hate how we have now gone with it.
