  1. I would sooner be watching entertaining football in the championship than Premiership football. For a start it would mean I would only be able to go to about 3 games a season because a ticket would be so expensive. Look at Blackpool and how they are going about things. The are having a great time and enjoying every minute of it. That's how football should be not this what's in it for me mentality. Look at Norwich and how they price their season tickets so generously and how they listen to fans to give them the best experience possible. What is saddest for me is that Southampton FC is now a 'what's in it for me' club. I liked the fact that we had things such as the ex players lounge where legends like MLT could have come for free if they had wanted to. OK so with cold hard numbers that might have lost the club some money but it adds so much more value to the club than just something which can be written down on a balance sheet. There are so man other examples of where the SFC 'family' feeling of inclusion has been lost. That's really the most depressing thing in all this. It doesn't feel like it used to.
  2. Did you get this from Martin's family?
  3. I know I posted this on the other thread, but it belongs here too: Not sure what to say. Everything I have been told over the past few months appears to have had a lot of substance. It gives me no pleasure but that performance was clearly influenced by Pardew's sacking. I cannot disagree with you more strongly Weston. The players have CLEARLY been affected by this. I was no huge Pardew fan but to sack him the day before the window closes when he was looking to bring in more faces is just madness. I am totally deflated by both the awful performance tonight but also by the feeling that part of me wanted us to lose. I just feel so ashamed that we have acted with no loyalty and like we are becoming a lower league Man City. The way I feel at the moment, I don't think we deserve another victory. For me, supporting Southampton is about sharing an experience with other fans. About watching players who play with commitment and above themselves but above all it's about me feeling connected with the club and a feeling that "we are all in this together." For me Cortese has ruined this. It has become an "us and them" scenario with the views of supporters no longer encouraged and no longer listened to. MLT and Benali are discouraged from coming to games and the thought of that just depresses me hugely. Southampton used to be a family, a small club who punched above their weight and who had a great laugh doing it. I now feel detached from the club in the same way that I did during the end of Lowe's reign, except that this time there is nothing I can do to affect change. Cortese feels that Southampton is his baby, well it's not. SFC is owned by the fans who will be here long after you have left with your ridiculous ideas which have made myself and many other supporters feel isolated and like no one cares about supporters anymore. Call me stupid but I liked the fact that the press and others clubs had a soft spot for us. I liked the fact that we never paid mega bucks for players but that we had our own home grown heroes who gave a sh*t typified by the wonderful MLT. I look at the various things which have happened this summer and I just shake my head and wonder where it all went wrong. I'm not debating the rights or wrongs of these decisions, but they really have left me feeling like I am losing my club. The thought of having a smaller version of Chelsea as a club in the premiership in a few years makes me want to go down the road and support Eastleigh. I am incredibly sad tonight.
  4. Perhaps but then that never happened so the point is irrelevant.

  6. F*ck all for us. BOOOOO
  7. No players today then. Sometimes I hate this club.
  8. Tony, is it true that MLT has avoided going to SMS unless necessary for his job?
  9. Deppo is a WUM. People taking him seriously are fools.
  10. Fair play to you Cam. You have my respect (not that you will care that much! )
  11. Any response to my post? Or are you just going to ignore it and continue with the personal stuff.
  12. Why can't you just discuss things sensibly without resorting to abuse? Serious question. Ok so you have a difference of opinion to myself but why start calling me weak, pathetic and a ****? Is it not possible for you to talk in a sensible manner? Or alternatively just not reply if you are going to be abusive? I'm glad I don't meet some of you in real life. It's nice to be able to talk and debate with people without shouting obscenities just because you disagree. Long time posters like Franks Cousin, Nickh and (pleasant surprise) Canada Saint have often disagreed with me but can tell me that without all the rubbish that goes with it. Why cant you?
  13. I think 'Win It For Markus' is unnecessary and cringeworthy. I haven't actually posted that or had a go at anyone who has used it though, I just used my picture to show my point of view. Thanks for the personal abuse once again. How am I a bandwagon jumper? I have been consistent with my views and when I have changed my mind (like with Duncan) I said so and apologised. With regards the joke, I have made my views on that clear in an earlier post on this thread. Note how at no point during my reply did I resort to calling you a prize ****. It's how grown up people discuss things.
  14. Hardly a shock...
  15. Some of NC's decisions have made me think he doesn't fully consider the consequences. The press thing is the most obvious example of this. I hope he has fully considered what sacking AP at this time means.
  16. Pardew knew he was going to be sacked. He knew it was just a matter of time. I know that because I have spoken to someone very close to Pardew AND other people on here have had similar conversations and received similar info from different sources.
  17. So you are saying this decision was out of the blue? I can;t believe some views on here.
  18. Wow Andy I agree with your list!
  19. It does seem rather odd. Especially things like no notice of the installment plan. I think a lot of his decisions would have been much better received if they had been explained and released in a certain way. Is he not aware of PR? You would think the first thing he would be looking to do is some sort of damage limitation exercise. If his mindset was that he was going to sack Pardew, then one day before the transfer window closes when the manager has already spoken of further strengthening is pretty much the worst time you could think of!
  20. Why would someone not want Martin O'Neil over Pardew? That's crazy! Everyone else I would rather have Pards.
  21. But you could also say them same for Cortese... You have to say the timing of this is just awful.
  22. Sky were fuming because they needed some information (I think it was related to where cameras could go or if they could park in a certain place) but Cortese was on holiday and had asked not to be disturbed. No one wanted to commit themselves and so Sky had to track Cortese down themselves which I think they managed to do a few days later. They were seriously cheesed off and I expect will be thinking hard before showing games from SMS in the future. Ho hum.
  23. Well I have no idea but maybe Cortese is not really one to compromise! I hope whoever we get, we stick with them for a while and give them a chance.
  24. No chance IMO would MON work with Cortese. He cannot stand interfering chairmen! If we did get him though it would be extremely exciting. What are your thoughts on Zola? (Off topic I know but it is a more pleasing subject!)
