  1. And I agree with that too. The problem is we knew the narrative from Labour and the media so kicking off for no reason and attacking a mosque is just going to play into that narrative. Seems an idiotic thing to do from a strategic point of view and they don't even have a clear justification since it doesn't seem to be the case that the perpetrator of the crimes was anything to do with Islam.
  2. What debate needs to happen? Khalif has XY chromosones and is biologically male. It may be the case that they have believed their whole life that they are a woman but sadly for Khalif they have DSD and should not be competing against women. Unfortunately if you are one of the tiny minority of people who have this condition then you can't compete in the female category at the olympics. They have my sympathy for their unfortunate circumstance but there really isn't any debate to be had.
  3. I mean we aren't are we. I have a level of sympathy for some working class people who are forced to endure rising crime levels and antisocial behaviour as a result of loads of migrants being housed in their local area but I don't have any sympathy for thick people who go and smash up a small town or burn down a mosque. Everyone is just as shocked and disgusted about these girls being killed as anyone else but the vast majority of people aren't doing ridiculous things like that which will only serve to play into stereotypes of racist hooligans and not do anything to advance a cause which as I said they have at least some of a point worth listening to. It is true to say that we have a growing problem of high levels of illegal immigration that fosters resentment in the native population, particularly when events like this happen- I'm aware this individual is not an illegal immigrant himself but the point is still relevant. What we need is actual dialogue and a sensible plan to actually see lower numbers in order to ease tensions but as someone else said governments of any colour aren't prepared to do the unpalatable things necessary to begin to resolve things so the probems will continue and tensions will continue to rise. It's not a civil war though that's absurd.
  4. All that's speculation at the moment isnt it. We don't know the extent of his ASD.
  5. You realise that's at best 80 million? Even if Ramsdale is a loan?
  6. At least she's not going to moan about the amount of time he spends at work.
  7. I got a kiss from pinder and a signed football at a charity quiz at St Mary's many years ago. Admittedly it was on the cheek but it counts and Martin is now having my sloppy seconds. Enjoy Russ.
  8. Hopefully he has more faith in himself. SAA has already been told that if he stays with us this year he will be backup and will have opportunities to maybe work his way into the team. That won't change with someone else coming in.
  9. Disagree. Plenty of opportunities for lots of games for both players at this stage of their careers. We need a strong group of players not just a good starting 11. There's no sign that SAA and sibling are going to have their. Pathway blocked and actually a fair bit of evidence this preseason to suggest the opposite.
  10. Bizarre comment. As I said previously, bringing in an established an experienced winger in SAA's position would make it less likely that he gets a game than if we bring this bloke in. Bringing in someone equally inexperienced would be seen by them as a good thing because they will be more likely to get on the pitch and compete with someone of similar age and experience.
  11. No positive updates on any of them for ages. I was hoping for a bit of business this week beyond Diaz who we knew about a while ago.
  12. It's felt like an age since we had a credible link. Come on saints pull your fingers out.
  13. Like Harry kane at the same age you mean?
  14. What makes you think we'd be able to sign someone considered one of the hottest young strikers in Europe who doesn't have some issues? That's why we'd have any sort of chance.
  15. That's how Martin describes loads of these injuries. Sometimes he will say it's a bad one but otherwise he downplays it and then you end up not seeing the player for weeks.
  16. Fair enough I'd forgotten. Even weirder then that we aren't seeing any sight of him at all.
  17. Will it be getting onto 7 months since we last saw Stewart kick a football?
  18. Maybe he wanted to see if they could resolve things on their own?
  19. Potentially just three changes from last year and no real certainty that they are significantly better than the players they have replaced other than maybe Taylor. Not great.
  20. That's actually mental. He wasn't great but he was a million times better than Mara.
  21. If that is the team we go with then the only place we could possibly be stronger than last year is in attack and at left back. You could argue we are actually weaker on the wings.
  22. I don't think the two things were entirely unrelated were they.
  23. Not sure that's going to be enough to see us survive. New recruits will be necessarily eased in due to the complexity of Martin's system. We might not be seeing our strongest starting eleven until mid October.
  24. Do you agree that's at least close to the lineup we go with?
  25. McCarthy Bednarek THB Stephens Sugawara Downes Smallbone Taylor Aribo Armstrong Bereton Diaz May be close to the team we put out for Newcastle. In my opinion that's nowhere near good enough and we could get spanked.
