By all accounts, many of them are hiding in civilian populations or effectively using civilians as human shields. That makes it incredibly difficult to take action against the correct people without some civilian casualties. Personally I'd hold Hamas responsible for many of them given that they clearly don't give a toss about the average Palestinian.
-
So what's your suggestion then? Because they can't just sit back and do nothing or do very little in the face of such a catastrophic attack. If it were my family so brutally tortured and murdered I'd be wanting action taken as well.
-
The point is that the aim for Israel is to prevent Hamas from doing it again. Doing something small and relatively inconsequential is just going to lead to Hamas doing the same thing again in a few years. I totally understand why Israel are getting to a point where they want to prevent this from happening again.

Saints 1-1 Rotherham - Match Thread
hypochondriac replied to Lee On Solent Saint's topic in The Saints
Agree with you. I was really annoyed at full time but after sleeping on it, games like this do happen and we've played a lot better recently. I still think we should have enough to get into the playoffs which is about par for the season. -
Saints 1-1 Rotherham - Match Thread

I think the reactions from some are way over the top and I also think that results like yesterday happen sometimes and on most other days we would have smashed it. The post you replied to however may be the most pompous and arrogant I've ever read on here and that's saying something! All these neanderthal fans getting annoyed about not winning. Can't they see its a process? The enlightened class of educated fans know what we really should be doing and that's sticking Aribo up front. Well played sir. -
When he signed they gave similar dates to now. Doesn't sound like anything has changed to me.
-
Whacks up his price as well which can only be a good thing if he's off anyway.

I do think Smallbone flatters to deceive and is someone we could definitely improve on.

Is our squad better now than in our promotion season?

It's not about individuals it's about the team. -
Eh? Downes was motm for me.

Aribo, Mara and Fraser. We best win this now...

This has an air of inevitability about it at the moment.

I'm genuinely chuffed we won and pleased for Martin who I think is a good man. Let's not though pretend that this is Martin's system coming good. This was largely abandoning the system and doing something that can actually win football matches. I hope Martin doesn't try and gaslight the fans by saying that his system is now working.

Don't want to jinx it but looking good so far...

I think it would be easier to swallow a loss today if we saw a bit of what you mention and signs that things will be turned around. If we lose narrowly but give Leeds multiple opportunities to score a hatful, look terrible without the ball and just as leaky and error prone at the back, then the fear is that we have settled into a rut with no sign of things getting better. I'll feel better about things if we show aggression, look more organised and solid and create some chances even if we end up losing.
-
If we lose again tomorrow, I want to see some of these youngsters given a chance. The likes of @Lighthousemight dismiss the notion, but they should be given opportunities given that many in the current team are proven failures.

Wade Garrett seems to be saying that not starting his best players is somehow something to do with Martin not showing full commitment. My point is him being rubbish at choosing the team has nothing to do with a lack of commitment.
-
Really depressing that Ameyew has been dumped. He looked great in the first few games off the bench.
-
Starting players that most of us wouldn't start isn't indicative of a lack of commitment.
-
Russell Martin in today's press conference: "there hasn't been much in the games" Does he mean Sunderland? Leicester? Middlesborough where they could have scored 4? A few weeks ago he was talking complete sense in these interviews, now he sounds ridiculous.
-
That's a bit unfair. I don't think you can question his commitment, he seems like an incredibly hard worker. The philosophy is the flawed bit.
-
Let's imagine he goes after a while and gets another job in the championship. A few weeks later if we are due to play his team would you be happy to have that fixture coming up? I know I would because it woikd be incredibly obvious how they would play and how we could get a result against them. Thays the biggest problem for me.

We need Richard Chorley and his thirty pieces of silver.
