  1. Which is precisely my point. Apparently this amounts to "having a hard time" as opposed to typing some things on a message board whilst watching something on TV.
  2. Wow! You can have any opinion you want, simply talking about the risks involved in selling all our best players and trying to replace the all in the last week or two of the window as opposed to maybe keeping one or two, isn't "bedwetting" or some other type of unacceptable opinion. It's a perfectly legitimate view to hold. Of course I will pass comment when inevitably we bring replacements in which we clearly will but I'm perfectly entitled to view that as a risk and question why we wouldn't look to keep the likes of Adams and Tella. I'll be giving my opinion about the wisdom of selling at this point of the window and also passing comment about the replacements and our subsequent performances. Shockingly you can do both and you can also have an opinion that develops as things change. You should try it some time.
  3. He said that was a misrepresentation and he meant that based on the press conference of Friday he assumed we were getting two midfielders in this week.
  4. The Echo journalist didn't say that.
  5. Absolutely. It's short sighted.
  6. Why did I mention they would replace players with a lack of quality? You've made that up.
  7. Might as well shut the forum down for two weeks if you're saying there's no room for speculation or comment on scenarios espoused by pundits and reported in the media. If we can't talk about the reported sale of Adams and Tella and express concern about how those sales are a gamble and the chances of players coming in having to be as good or better and having to gel quickly in order to fashion a promotion bid then there's no point in a messageboards existence.
  8. The Echo journalist didn't say that.
  9. I'd think of more relevance would be the 19 goals he got last season and the 22 the season before that but just because he hasn't scored in his first three league games for a poorer team, he's probably crap...
  10. Replacing in form players currently performing well in this league is a risk even if the players who replace them are as good or better on paper. Absolutely no guarantees they will work out which is why it's a gamble.
  11. So last summer when people got upset at the "prospect" of not signing an adequate striker and other posters said it was premature and we weren't allowed to say anything until the end of the window, when the window closed those same people were rating it 8, 9 or 10 and making excuses for the lack of a striker.
  12. Almost no one has made a fuss about outgoings thus far, it's the prospect of further losses in the form of Adams, Alcaraz, Tella and KWP that people are getting upset about. With very little time to replace them, it's going to be a big risk that we don't need.
  13. Scored twice in the cup.
  14. So players unproven in the league we are in then. So no idea if better at all.
  15. Can you really blame fans given the shit show of the transfer windows over the past few years? Selling off the remaining good players now and then bringing in a load of new players-regardless of quality-is imo a risk we don't need to take.
  16. Not sure what you mean by better. What other proven championship goalscorers are there? Anyone else is bound to be a risk that we don't need to take.
  17. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/08/19/khan-tried-silence-scientists-questioned-ulez-claims/?utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1692476209-1 Interesting. Imperial College study says the ulez has little impact on pollution. So it's not really saving children's lives after all and is in fact a money making scheme.
  18. Pkus what he says in his press conference and what he truly feels are two different things.
  19. Not sure I agree with that. Entirely conceivable we could spend 15 million on a replacement for Adams. Doubt we'd spend whatever we bring in for kwp on a rb but could see maybe 15 million on a cb.
  20. Well that's absolutely obvious. Even if we wanted to, we couldn't spend 100 million in this league.
  21. We got the same thing with West ham and then jwp went there in the end. Same thing will happen here most likely.
  22. Adams is fine as a squad player in the Premier league but not as a starting attacker. He's absolutely good enough to be the main player in the championship though. They're two different jobs.
  23. Yes that's my point. I can see the logic in selling Adams, even if it weakens us but the others are under contract and we should be taking the hit for a year.
  24. If we keep Alcaraz we will have made at least one exception. What's a couple more.
  25. Yes that's exactly what we should do
