It's worth listening to the tone of it more than anything. Martin seemed downbeat and virtually confirmed that Adams is off. Said essentially he was fed up with the club prior to Martin coming in so maybe not much he can do. Alluded to others leaving too and suggested that the ones coming in woukd be replacements for those leaving (so to my mind that's Tella or Sulemana being replaced by fraser.) Holgate coming in at CB too which I'm not sure anyone wants, I'm hoping he's primarily a rb when kwp leaves.

What a depressing press conference. Not much to inspire confidence in that at all.

You won't be able to convince me that Manning is a replacement for Livramento.

Downes wasn't. Manning didn't replace anyone as we needed a lb. Shea Charles I'll grant you but I assume that's because we knew with certainty Lavia was off which is why he didn't play any games.

If Ryan Fraser is here as part of the squad to replace the wingers who have left or in place of Djenepo - not bad. Reports of a bad attitude but he might do well with a fresh start and coukd give us some strength in depth. If Ryan Fraser is here to replace Sulemana or Tella-that's completely shit and I'm very worried about our season and our squad and it's a pretty significant downgrade.

Imagine losing both of them and looking at who we've brought in. The success of this transfer window and indeed our season will hinge now almost entirely on what happens to four players imo (ABK, Tella, Adams and KWP).

And that's fine if all of them stay.

Armstrong doesn't perform the same role as Adams. Ballard is a youth option off the bench. Personally I'd try and get rid of Mara because he isn't good enough.

Regardless of our finances and everything else, I'm really surprised we didn't bring in a cb before the season started. I am also surprised we haven't brought in a striker. If we had two really decent signings in those two positions, I think it would be a lot easier to be calmer right now when the rest of our quality is being linked away and when we are bringing in cast off loanees from the prem.

We have Adams and Mara as our two striker options. We need someone.

It's good if it gets rid of Onuachu. Not sure what available striker we will bring in though.

Hopefully that gives them the cash to buy Onuachu.

But also seems odd that we have signed a player in advance of someone leaving when it doesn't really seem like we've done that the rest of the summer.

Shame the link with Vyner seems to have disappeared. Their fans are desperate to keep him and said he was their most improved player.

I think the Holgate signing is OK. I'm not a big fan of this one because it blocks some our young players and he supposedly has a terrible attitude and is a disruptive influence. It's not the type of signing I would have gone for but I do hope he can prove me wrong.

I was surprised to find on their forum that it was almost universal praise. I think he missed a penalty for them in the playoffs which was their only negative really.

To be fair, I checked their forum and they were very complementary at the time and wanting to sign him.

If we do end up shifting ABK, Tella, Sulemana, kwp and Adams in the next week and replacing them with solid but unspectacular signings like Fraser and Holgate it's going to be a bloody depressing season. I'm sure some posters will try to convince themselves things have worked out and call Wilcox a genius but for everyone else it will be bloody depressing. I'm still crossing my fingers that we might be able to keep a couple.

I think Downes is a good signing. I want some attacking flair and a bit of a talismanic signing to get excited about. Neither of these does that really let's be honest.

Let's be honest, this relegation lark is absolute dogshit isn't it. I almost wish we hadn't had all these players playing the first few games of the season. It's almost like seeing what we could have had under a competent manager. Everything is being sold and being replaced with Holgate and fecking Ryan fraser whilst some posters try to put a brave face on it.

According to @manjiwe are signing someone better instead of Piroe. I look forward to seeing who that might be.

Of course but signing players already proven in the championship gives you a greater chance of that signing being a success.

I hope so. It might be selfish but I was hoping for a signing to get me excited or at least get an attacking signing that seems like a bit of a coup and show the rest of the division we mean business after all of our sales.
