  1. Why tella and not jwp? Both could wreck morale in that case. I don't think someone like jwp woukd be anything other than professional and try his absolute best for the club.
  2. When Lavia goes, I genuinely don't know why the club would accept 35 million for jwp. We've made ab absolute shed load from sales and should have more than enough to keep him for a season and tell him that he's staying. If he goes it will be a big blow to morale on top of a blow to the team to lose someone of his ability. If we get to the end of the window and he's still here, the lift would be huge and coukd carry us to promotion which is worth a lot more than 35 million. If we really don't have to sell for financial reasons then that is what we should do imo.
  3. Newcaslte kept a load of their players when they went down, same with West ham. I'm sure they owuld get over it if we keep being successful. I'm not sure it will happen anyway I'm just saying I think we could make it work.
  4. Personally I'd sell Lavia and then say that's it for sales for this window other than the smaller guys like Lyanco, McCarthy etc. ABK, JWP, KWP, Sulemana, Tella, Alcaraz and Adams would be an unbelievable collection of players in the championship. I expect a few more will go but I do wonder what would happen if we just refused any more sales.
  5. Yes it's a sad reality but much better to have a level of acceptance about where we are in the footballing hierarchy. I lost a fair bit of passion after we did so well and then saw the team systematically dismantled by bigger teams and we just couldn't keep it going. Our best chance of success is to do what we have done with Tino and make a shed load of money which will hopefully allow us to buy two or three more Tinos and repeat the process. It's tough but that's what we have to do at least until the big boys feck off to the super league and we can attempt something of a more level playing field.
  6. When he signed for such a tiny amount, I remember thinking this guy is going to make us so much money and he's certainly lived up to that. There is a scenario where he never recovers from his acl injury so it's actually brilliant that a club in our position can extract such good value
  7. Tino was completely professional throughout and seems like a really nice lad. I hope he does really well. At least another 25 million for us here without significantly weakening the team is good business. I wonder if we will get Aarons in now or if we will also look to sell KWP (that would be a bit of a more painful loss IMO.)
  8. Although it's sad to lose him, we didn't actually need him like we do some of the others. Very likely IMO he would have gone next year even if we had gone up so not a huge loss. Lots of other players I'd rather keep given the choice.
  9. Agreed. A bit like umpires call in cricket. If it's really tight then you stick with the decision on the field which has the added bonus of not undermining the referee and giving more confidence to use his judgement rather than just letting play continue all the time and then using VAR as a crutch.
  10. I'd love it if we rejected it again!
  11. I think most people would be resigned if he went to Spurs. It's a clear step up and we may have struggled to keep him even if we'd stayed up. Just such a shame to lose him when he would be incredible at this level.
  12. Here's a good clue. He has been the Co-commentator on bbc radio Devon. Lets leave it there as its quite off topic.
  13. That's actually a cracking guess and very close but he never played for Bournemouth and certainly not 5 foot 10. Not going to reply now though in case you get it!
  14. Spurs it is then.
  15. Not that good (or tall!)never played for the first team but a decent lower league player. Still mates with some of the Bournemouth players and has a few stories to tell.
  16. Correct. If I see a meteorite hit someone, does that make it more likely that I will see that again any time soon?
  17. Well he's fallen upwards!
  18. My brother in law is an ex spurs player. Really don't want them to sign jwp...
  19. So bad I posted it twice!
  20. Crap. If true that changes things...
  21. If true then surely that refutes any idea that we are desperate for money? Turning down 45 million is audacious and unprecedented for a team in the championship.
  22. Quite a split opinion on this one!
  23. Our financial situation clearly is not anywhere near as dire as it has been in the past. We appear to be selling players on our terms and we don't seem to be under any financial pressure to sell. We have a lot of high value assets that everyone in the championship will kill for and clearly we are going to sell some of them. That's very different to it being a requirement that we have to sell or we will be in financial trouble. The club have said publically that we don't have financial difficulties and our actions so far have backed that up.
  24. If we needed money then we wouldn't be turning down bids of 40 million for Lavia and risking him not being sold. We'd take the money.
  25. I can't see us accepting a bid right at the end of the window unless he puts in a transfer request or something.
