I agree that we won't get another one but that's the sort of thing I think we need. Good post.
-
Is your sense that we'd ever look to get him back? I've heard some people say that he might want to return but I don't think there's a place for him with our new signings.
-
Have they shown they can score goals given chances in the prem? Diaz showed glimpses but that isn't case for the other two yet. They might well do but there's no evidence as yet.
-
In his position on the left coming inside I'd be confident he can do a job n for us there. I don't think he's a centre forward leading the line though.
-
Yes. One who has had prior performance in this league and whose previous scoring record isn't 4 goals in two seasons.
-
That's another reason we won't get Ramsdale imo. We can't leave it till the very last minute which is when arsenal might consider a loan to someone like us because we need one in. We probably have a large list with the attributes we want and we will go down it till we get one.

I expect we will see some improvement. Whether it is to the extent that it has a serious impact on our season remains to be seen. The last preseason game and the Newcastle game have still left me with some doubts. I'm glad he's in the team and we must give him a chance but I'm nervous about the prospect of relying on him too heavily abd pinning our promotion hopes on him until he proves he can score regularly in this division.

Think we can write of Patricio coming here if this article is in any way accurate: His kicking is not a strong part of his game, particularly when put under pressure from opponents. Following a back-pass from a defender, Patrício’s lack of assurance invites pressure from attackers who sense an opportunity as the ball rolls back towards goal. As the ball travelled, Wolves’ centre-backs did not drop back to offer a passing option to their goalkeeper, and he would almost always look to play long. On the rare occasions he tried to take a touch, he sometimes even lost possession and gifted an opponent a huge chance (below). Patrício played almost 90 per cent of his goal-kicks long, to the extent that only a handful of Premier League goalkeepers launched more long passes than did Wolves' number one. None of the other teams who played long from their goalkeeper as much as Wolves finished anything like as high up the table as Nuno's did in their first two seasons in the Premier League. That is, the most successful teams play short from their goalkeeper far more than Wolves.

How is Patricio at playing out from the back? Is he still good enough despite his age? I haven't been keeping up with him.

I'd say it would be a sad state of affairs if the person we are relying on the most to score goals is AA given his previous record in this division. When we've done well previously we've had at least one and sometimes two stars who we know can reliably stick the ball in the net. Lambert, Rodriguez, Pelle, Gabbiadini to a lesser extent, Broja with his vein of form and Ings. Who do we have now? My fears may be unfounded but we need more for the attack imo.
-
Fair enough for Fernandes but I didn't see much chance creation from lesley?
-
Who will be our top scorer and how many goals do you reckon? I don't think anyone is making double figures. Maybe Diaz with 8?
-
Personally I don't think that's good enough to stay up. We simply won't score enough.
-
But we finish above forest, Everton and Leicester...

You apologised and then continued to call me a racist so in actuality your apology meant fuck all. The only thing I did was laugh at the idea that you had inside information regarding southampton transfer dealings and you flew off the handle calling me a prick, racist etc etc. It sounded unhinged to be perfectly honest and rather like you may be drinking again unless that's how you are all the time, I don't actually remember you as a poster before this year.
-
You also get it the other way though where loads of people say they deserved it or they're happy they died because they were rich. I know it's slightly different but loads of people were almost gloating when the deep water sub exploded and everyone on board died. That sounded horrendous to me on a human level even if they did have more money than sense.
-
Ah you must mean the 'spat' where he got pissed up and repeatedly called me a cunt before crawling back shamefaced a few days later with a grovelling apology which to be fair is more than you've ever offered despite your previous disgusting claims to numerous posters.
-
Indeed. Personally I'd like us to structure some deals like that. Keeps us within FFP rules and means we might be able to afford a higher class of player. Dare I say it maybe we'd be interested in structuring the Ramsdale deal in a similar fashion - although his no doubt higher wages would be an issue I'm sure.
-
It's about staying up this year. Yes he's not worth that but he's probably worth that to them if they stay up. Will be interesting to see how he does.
-
Fair play to him talking in English but I can't help but feel we'd have got some more insightful answers with a translator.
-
Do you have any evidence or just a hunch?
-
Sounds like the o'riley alternative to me. Non scoring though which is a bit of a worry still.
-
There we go then. Still think it's a little bit of an odd one but hopefully we can make an exciting unit from some of these players.
-
Not sure you've come to that conclusion. They might have put a bid in but the decision to accept and when will come from arsenal.
-
There's an awful lot of words written about jwp and not a single link to him this entire summer.
