Great. That is exactly the type of thing we will be encountering this season. Learning how to counter it will be very important. It seems like this could be a really useful preseason fixture.

I'm assuming at the moment we are just getting used to this new style of play. Who would you say has adapted the best so far?

Brilliant idea to get one of our toughest pre season games in first. Really gives us an idea of what is required against an opposition that will be better than virtually every team we face this year. If we can play this possession based stuff with even a small measure of success against these guys then it should stand us in good stead for the rest of preseason.

That seems like a good deal to me if that's what was offered. I'd be surprised if West ham went for that though.

If other clubs won't pay though surely we will just have to get some out the door? We can't keep them all and refresh the squad and bring in alternatives. Additionally, have you heard anything about jwp?

Yep that's dire. You'd have to say that financially we are in the best shape of anyone in the championship, particularly if we sell ABK, Lavia, Tella etc.

If that's true then we really shouldn't be selling the likes of tella or jwp for anything other than top dollar.

The only chance he has of staying is if we cash in on Tino. With Bree performing so well last year in the Championship we simply aren't going to be able to keep three right backs. The reality is we failed last year and many of the players values will be hit as a consequence. I expect a lot of clubs will just wait it out so we better hope we have offloaded enough in the next couple of weeks or we are going to have to accept knockdown prices for some (not a great sign that Liverpool are now saying they have to sell before they can buy with Lavia.)

And then if we don't get satisfactory offers for DCC, bednarek, Stephens and ABK? We can't just keep everyone in an already bloated squad, particularly if we want to bring in another cb as has been reported.

Honestly I think some of the valuations that some fans have are just wrong and they're going to be disappointed. He's I the last year of his contract with well publicised issues and everyone knows he doesn't want to be here. What are we going to do, decline every offer and stick him in the reserves? We have a massive backlog of centre backs that we don't want and we need to shift them. We can't just sit on a shed load of players and refuse any offers below our asking price, at some point we are going to have to shift some and that likely means compromise and letting some go for less than we would like.

Why would he stay if he won't play? He's not getting in the team ahead of Manning and Tino. It's almost certain he will go imo.

I don't think we would have any chance of that amount personally. He would only be backup for a top club and they aren't going to be paying that much. Lower teams won't be able to afford it.

KWP would be a great cover signing for a team in Europe. English as well you'd imagine some big clubs will be all over that.

I had a quick gander at a few Swansea forums and interestingly they still reckon we will be signing Latibeudier and Grimes.

You would think so. He was one of our better performers last year which isn't saying much but it's not a huge loss.

And this imo is why the owners deserve slack and a measure of understanding. It's not Rupert and Guy.
