  1. So he's gone to the media now to limit the damage. Apparently he was mates with the bloke. I'm not sure that makes it better, I've never been mates with someone 40 years younger than me. Pretty dodgy really.
  2. He's off then clearly. Should hopefully get our money back though or close to it I would have thought.
  3. Particularly if you'd known the person from a young age and subsequently had a position of authority over them. Deeply deeply creepy and morally wrong if not illegal.
  4. Yeah. Like perhaps it's sensible to wait for the outcome of an appeal before labelling someobe a rape apologist.
  5. Which part of my post was pure speculation and assumption? I never used the words could have or might have. There is a 40+ year age gap between the two, Schofield did know him when he was a child and he did subsequently hold a position of authority over him and definitely engaged in a relationship with him shortly after he became an adult. That's all fact.
  6. Which bit? He's admitted to the relationship, there is a 40+ year age gap and he was in a position of authority over him. None of that is speculation. The only bit you could say was an assumption is that he began a relationship shortly after he became an adult. It could have been earlier.
  7. Because when there's a 40+ year age gap between you and your lover, you've known that person since they were a child, had a position of authority over them and then begin a relationship with them shortly after they are an adult (if that is the case here) then I would say it meets the definition.
  8. Of course not but it's really obvious that if a young girl had been groomed by a man decades older than her from a young age, there would be a different reaction to what has happened here.
  9. I don't think that would be the same if the young boy was a girl.
  10. I would say that knowing this child from at least 15 (with one particular photo showing them both in what appears to be before that time) and then subsequently having a relationship that he lied about is deeply creepy and wrong even if it's not illegal.
  11. Also good that they are talking about Brentford and Brighton as clubs to emulate rather than what Semmens said before. If what they are saying is true, it does seem that the existing personalities had a bit of a loser mentality. Let's hope we see a difference if they are to be more hands on.
  12. The main bit of positivity is that with this quote they are going to look very silly if we aren't up there after a couple of months. For that reason I think they will have a proper go at it.
  13. Lots of encouraging bits in the latest bit of the interview tbf. I'm pleased they are leaving the football decisions largely to the football man and reiterating the point about winning the league. Positive quotes.
  14. I just offered an opinion like everyone else. Feel free to disregard if it upsets you.
  15. What are we waiting for?
  16. I think there are mitigating circumstances with Selles though given when he came in. Jones had everything in his favour and was absolutely horrendous.
  17. 100%. You have to consider the context when you're judging both of them and given that, Jones was a thousand times worse.
  18. We will have done very well if we've got rid of Diallo, Elyounoussi, Aribo and tall Paul.
  19. Seems like he required his nose for something else.
  20. That's true but at least there is now something on the record that they can be judged by. I'd far rather hear noises like this which suggests they will have to back it up than what Semmens was spouting.
  21. Yes that is the one bit that you can clearly applaud. They've publically set themselves a target now and the pressure will be on to deliver.
  22. At least they've cottoned on that they had to ditch the just lucky to be here talk. I'll be interested to see if we have some changes now you've got the money men keeping a closer eye on things. That coukd result in some positive changes or it could get even more ridiculous if Dragan wants to interfere.
  23. Nathan Jones was almost certainly a narcissist and narcissists are by definition not good guys. He was certainly honest though, that's true he always said what he thought. I was hoping we'd never have to talk about him ever again. Worst manager in my lifetime for sure.
  24. I've now also read the times article. The fact Solak thinks there was nothing wrong with the personality of Jones. I mean jesus christ there are no words for that.
  25. You only had to speak to a Stoke fan for five minutes to understand the issue with Jones. You could then talk to him yourself and it was obvious. Much of what they say in that article is fair but that is a giant red flag.
