It's not back to basics.
-
Given its costing us a report 800k to buy him out, it's not really a cheap appointment is it. If we get the added bonus of being able to attract the best Swansea players with championship experience then it may well be worth it.
-
Personally I'm fine with people saying its an underwhelming appointment or being initially unexcited. I don't see much point in saying he's shit until we can see what he will actually do with us though. I don't see the point in raging about a manager that we really don't know much about. From what I've seen at least he isn't a complete prick like Jones so that's a positive if nothing else!
-
I choose to be happy with this appointment and assume it will work out unless it proves not to be the case. We should probably be able to see after about ten games if it's worth sticking with or not (Jones it took even less.) The alternative is to gripe and moan about something we have no control over and which might not happen anyway. We have a relative embarrassment of riches at this level so should be making the playoffs as a minimum abd if that happens then it will be a lot more of an entertaining season than this one.

Not necessarily. Didn't everyone have Bournemouth to finish bottom this year?
-
Will be released soon I believe.
-
Just assume that everyone is going and you won't be surprised. There's only about 4 or 5 players it would be worth keeping anyway.
-
It was all over toon twitter a few weeks ago. Wouldn't surprise me at all.
-
Was absolutely awful as manager but unlike Jones seems like a really nice bloke who I hope does well elsewhere in the future.
-
Because he is a co founder of the whole thing.
-
Of course but given the choice I'd rather have a likable character who is successful than someone irritating.
-
I think that being a high achieving player gives you a better chance of success but it doesn't guarantee it. If you've spent your entire career around elite managers and players then you'd hope you've learnt a few things. Everything about Jones reeked of amateur and lower leagues. You would imagine that that wouldn't be the case with Carrick regardless of if he comes here or not.
-
Also doesn't make it about himself. No reports of little tactical awareness. Doesn't embarrass himself in press conferences. I'm struggling to see any similarities with Jones to be honest other than both of them had some success in the championship.
-
I think I'd rather not a known quantity like Vieira who might be a success than some oddbod metrics driven choice from the lower leagues. At least we know what we are likely to get from Vieira.
-
Could have said the same about Saville before he was exposed.
-
Loads of rumours flying around social media. He was supposedly a patron of some theatre company that his brother was also involved with that this boy attended. There's also meant to be a super injunction that he has something to do with that expires soon.
-
TBF that isn't really reaph's fault.
-
Great article that sums it up well.
-
I never want to hear from him again.
-
Because people were obviously sitting on them until after relegation was confirmed.
-
I said people would be accusing him of meddling. It may be the case that he realised he had made mistakes and took a step back. We don't know.
-
I'm a bit worried about the whole bit about all the scouts working for sports Republic. Doesn't really foster any loyalty to our club.
-
Didn't say from who though! If they had to have a statement I'd have liked a more personal and less robotic version that have me confidence that they understood the gravity of the situation and wrre going to make significant changes. That statement just makes me worry.
-
That's a bit unfair. If he had been at every game people would be accusing him of meddling. He's shit but let's stick to criticising things he's actually guilty of.
-
That's a really shit statement. Saying its the most competitive league in the world is just a variation of what Semmens said about us being lucky to be here. Not much they could have said really though. Might have been better just saying nothing.
