  1. Yes it is possible for it to have a positive effect. Polls however have suggested the opposite. You believe it has had a positive effect but have yet to provide evidence for that claim.
  2. Also totally shocking that the BBC chose to "stonewall" one of their own investigative journalists. What do they have to hide?
  3. Great Post. That's the issue exactly.
  4. Absolutely fascinating and fantastic investigative journalism from someone inside the BBC no less! It exposes how laughable the BBC have been with their claims of impartiality and highlight how insidious Stonewall as an organisation are. Shocking but a must listen: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p09yk1fy
  5. What's your evidence that taking the knee has influenced people to be less racist?
  6. And taking the knee has influenced public opinion in a positive way?
  7. What's the goal then? Its working in what way? Because the surveys on the matter suggest that racial relations have been made worse by it.
  8. Instigates conversations that has led to people feeling more divided on racial lines than they were before if we are to believe the surveys.
  9. I've literally never heard of nemi. Seems to be reacting to an awful lot.
  10. No problem really with those who are open about their views. Pretending to have someone on ignore though and then in reality reading and reacting to loads of their posts is absolutely pathetic.
  11. Incredibly interesting. Looking at a few other threads and just as I suspected, one side of the argument has a large range of diverse voices signalling they agree and the other side its the same group of about five posters signalling their scorn. I think we can guess which side that is!
  12. Well now isn't this a fascinating new feature. It seems that Mr "has me on ignore" soggy has reacted to a number of my posts too. How curious! It's almost like it was total bollocks all along...
  13. Extending beyond race and gender. What does it mean? Disability? Bmi?
  14. No. I never said that either did I but I'd wager that those who have a real hatred of women are more likely not to have had any daughters. Undoubtedly having a young daughter gives you a greater appreciation of their perspective on things. That doesn't mean that everyone who has daughters isn't a woman hater or that those with a lot of experience of Black people can't be racist.
  15. Thought you had me on ignore? I never said that you can have no understanding, I said that people who interact with other ethnicities more frequently are much more likely to have a grasp of their experiences and understand their thinking. Using your analogy, I'd give more credance to someone's views on concentration camps if they regularly interviewed or spoke to concentration camp survivors. You seem to be saying that you'd give equal weight to someone who wanted to lecture people about concentration camp conditions because they'd watched a YouTube video and got their shoes shined once a year from someone whose uncles cousin visited Auchwitz on a school trip. I've repeated my views on racism in football ad nauseum so no need to repeat it again. You know what the answer is.
  16. I'd say the more non white people you have relationships with, the greater the chance you have of understanding their perspectives and opinions on matters including things like race. What's hilarious is soggy lecturing others on racism and what the correct behaviour is when he has very little daily interaction with anyone who isn't white apart from his barber.
  17. I think keep in touch or just above the relegation zone and then get some creativity in January.
  18. What's the definition of a woman soggy?
  19. Have we ever been confident of a win away to Newcastle? I would suggest absolutely not. Wolves not a bad team but admittedly I would have like a draw so that is a disappointing result. The next five games will tell us how this season is going to go imo not these first seven.
  20. Agreed. I predicted 8 but 9 would be pretty good as you say and would put us on more than 1 point per game.
  21. He's not wrong. We've done really well this season against the big teams and proven we can take points. We almost did again today and I think we would have been a good bet for a point without the red.
  22. The season doesn't literally start now obviously but our potential for serious points does. Many of the games in this first seven are what I would consider to be free hits. These are games where one player on the opposition bench costs more than our entire first eleven. Given the lack of investment and our current position I think the points return from Everton, United, City, Chelsea and West ham and even Newcastle away is about as good as can be expected. Now is where we must deliver as you say. I wouldn't call our start to the season a disappointment.
  23. I can't see how you can say that at this stage. Some very credible draws against top teams and we aren't even in the relegation zone! No chance Norwich finishes above us and Newcastle looking likely to go down at this stage. Could easily finish above about 4 others too. We could easily go down but we will know a lot more after the next five.
  24. I think it will be tough to beat Leeds and Burnley. Should get at least one hopefully two wins against Norwich and Watford and I've got no idea against villa.
  25. I think we can do it. Obviously ings is a big loss but other than that we should have more about us than last year.
