Duje Caleta-Car - Official: Loan to Lyon

It's unarguable that he is top three at the very least and so at the very worst if fit he should be starting or first backup for Bella Kotchap or Salisu. -

Exactly. You could see what Jones was about in that short clip of him shouting at the players when he first came in. I'd love to see an extended version of his training sessions as it wouldn't surprise me if they are exactly as we imagine them to be. Lower league and frankly below the level of the premier league whilst the likes of Brighton and Villa get in rolls Royce and intelligent managers who bring class to things. Our manager acts and sounds like he is at a lower level which is not something you could ever accuse Ralph, Poch or Koeman of being like. -
Poll: how do you think our League season will end?

Good post. I can still fantasise about Ankerson sacking Jones after Brentford and then appointing Bielsa or Graham Potter if he gets booted from Chelsea. I think even with a relegation that would be exciting. -
Won't be far off but I expect he will play Alcaraz tbf. Defence will be spot on though.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what the team is today. Jones claims it will be our strongest team and whilst I understand he won't be able to do anything is kwp has a knock or the new players haven't got their work permits, it will still be telling who is in and who is out.
-
The thing is though if we are going to concede in every game anyway, why detract from the rest of the team and our chances to score by playing 5 at the back? (I'm ignoring here the mind-blowing comments about us always scoring in this formation as Steve Grant has already exposed that as a lie.)

My spurs supporting brother in law has watched a handful of saints games and he watched the Newcastle game last week. He singled out Salisu as being particularly poor. I just found it interesting with everyone saying he is our best defender if neutrals are recognising him as poor. I know it's only one game but he isn't the commanding presence he was shortly after he first started for us.

Oblivious to the fact she was witnessing something historic. I wish I was a little older to have appreciated the pythons fully.
-
Yep I'd add them. I didn't find red dwarf hysterically funny but I did enjoy the show.

I have absolutely no idea what that means. So presumably he isn't going to play unless there is an injury which is just bizarre. I bet Bednarek gets on as well which is beyond mental if DCC is available. -
When I watched the pythons at the O2 it was a full house and I saw plenty of children. I accept that some of the ones later on my list would be more popular.
-
Maybe. But it will be interesting to see if any comedies from the last two decades will be regarded as absolute classics in the same vein as the ones I've mentioned. They're timeless.

I hope so. The main issue is in defence where there hasn't been any signs that he doesn't favour playing Bree, Lyanco, Bednarek or kwp out of position over players that fans would want like kwp at rb, Perraud, DCC etc. -
Bielsa would be a perfect fit for us.

My favourite UK comedies are: Brass eye The office I'm Alan partridge Knowing me knowing you Fawlty towers Monty pythons flying circus Peep show Father Ted Only fools and horses Black books The royle family I've probably missed some but the point is that even the alright stuff nowadays doesn't compare to any of that stuff and it's all from about 20 years ago plus. The quality of TV comedy has taken a real nosedive.
-
Peep show was predominantly earlier in the decade. I think you've sort of proved my point though as most of the best in the last 15 years is simply OK.

Apologies if I worded it clumsily. What I meant to say is that he will prioritise our players of more limited ability like Lyanco because he wants a team of scrappers with passion who play like a lower league team. -

Yes that's my worry. He wants players of limited ability who scrap for things and are passionate. It's what lower league teams are good at but it makes you look silly in the prem and is never going to work. -
I do agree with you but equally, the run of performances we had over an extended period were really unacceptable. That doesn't mean that Jones is in any way the answer but it did get a little bit ridiculous for a while.

Can't believe I'm saying this after the shit of the past year but I really miss Ralph...

I'm done. That's a complete and utter lie. The bloke is deluded. We absolutely lost because we started with a back five.

Who the f*ck plays a player and then 24 hours later starts them in a prem game? That's clearly bollocks.
-
I saw that Jones suggests that KWP might not start. If so then Perraud in the left I assume and Bree RB. Maybe not out of choice though but due to circumstances.
-
Very interesting. Tomorrow will supposedly be our strongest defence then.
-
Oh I do. The lower leagues are full of passionate types without much ability who compensate for it by kicking players up in the air, shouting at their teammates and thumping their chests. Those are clearly attributes that Jones values in his quest to give us aggression.
