  1. Yep. We're actually in not a terrible position if we get relegated. A lot of our players are not really good enough for the prem at the moment but probably quite decent championship players. Bazunu in goal or maybe a new keeper, Bree is proven in the championship and someone like Stephens would be good along with Bednarek if he stays, maybe DCC and Perraud and then real quality with Tino if he has recovered. We could maybe persuade Alcaraz and Orsic to stay, get rid of Mo and Armstrong will probably go to Scotland. Edozie would probably stay and he'd be a good option on the wings. I'd say if we get a chance for some signings we should concentrate in midfield where we will probably need replacements for Lavia and JWP, AMN and maybe Diallo so success will depend on if we manage to get the midfield sorted. Armstrong and Mara should be decent up front and we'd maybe have Adams but you'd hope that we'd have enough cash to bring in a top championship striker like Brereton Diaz or similar. It may be own club bias but I think there's some real championship quality there. If we keep the players I've predicted I'd like to see us sign: Keeper Lb or utility defender DM x2 Cm Winger Striker
  2. You know we will most likely get a winger in at the last minute (although I'm not discounting the possibility that we get no one) and then see a load of fluff about us not panicking and about how we had always planned for this scenario and everything has gone to plan. The reality is that the failure to get someone earlier has probably already cost us points.
  3. That worked out well in the summer.
  4. It's on the saints YouTube channel.
  5. I just listened to the press conference and its clear that's the player we want.
  6. Bit touchy fella. Maybe just scroll on by if talking about potential signings in a signings thread upsets you so much.
  7. If true then it would seem a bit odd if we sign him given that that's what Jones has been saying the squad needs.
  8. Jones wants someone strong, fast and aggressive. I'm not sure why he thinks that's going to make the attack more potent but there you go. It seems those attributes are the most highly prized in our position. Maybe he's right.
  9. Yes probably but I'd suggest that's true for most managers nowadays.
  10. We looked fragile and bereft of confidence. For my money, the current tactics we are employing are much more basic and remind me of lower league teams in the Cup against prem teams.
  11. I can't remember us looking more like a lower league team in the prem.
  12. So not really the same as Antonio then.
  13. Is Sulemana going to play up front then?
  14. I really think we need something different up front. It's soul destroying seeing Adams squander chances in the manner he does every week.
  15. Fair enough. I'd have liked to have seen us try.
  16. Given where we are, what's your best case realistic scenario? For me it's Sulemana, Antonio and Hjulmand or whatever his name is would seriously improve us.
  17. Yep. The only real issue will be if we get no one in and they continue that line. I'm fine with him keeping up a pretence for the media and morale but no one seriously believes that's the case.
  18. That would be amazing if we'd done that. Accept relegation now and then absolutely smash the championship next year.
  19. I don't think we can really be fussy now and it seems that the club are intent on not getting a striker for some reason that I don't understand. Under the circumstances I'd be happier that we'd at least got somebody in at this late stage but if we really had any sense we'd get Antonio in and Sulemana. I don't see how Sulemana is going to solve the problem of Che's woeful finishing but I accept that given our current position we really aren't going to be able to get much in now.
  20. Obviously I want an attacker but there is a tiny part of me that would enjoy seeing us not get one just to see how the club try to spin it.
  21. I haven't really seen any evidence thus far that Jones is a manager who suits us.
  22. I can't see how his stock will rise if we get relegated. He could probably get himself another championship job.
  23. I'd get him and maybe we could afford a winger we seem so desperate to get as well. Worst case scenario he would do a job in the championship next year.
  24. I would have loved us to have got Bielsa as a manager. That would have been amazing.
  25. I haven't warned to Jones, I'm not confident at all that it's going to work out with him here. Despite all that the club have shafted him by not getting in a striker. If we don't get someone adequate in then I will feel a bit sorry for him because he doesn't deserve that.
