  1. You see how is it a positive thing that almost half of the population in various countries have a negative opinion of the EU? That's hardly something to be happy with. Italy and their elections once again show the dissatisfaction for the EU and their policies with the largest single party being the euro sceptic party.
  2. My guess is that those threads would be short because everyone would just be agreeing that knife crimes and acid attacks by indigenous people is disgusting and that more should be done in partnership with local communities and police to tackle it. The difference with this topic is you get page after page of the same few people- mostly yourself to be fair- knocking down strawmen and making up arguments like "not all Muslims" "what about the Crusades?" "Christians are evil too" "Nazis are Christians and had Christian belt buckles" "Katie Hopkins compared herself to Christ so is definitely Christian" "Islam is a peaceful religion" "the Islamic religion is not dominated by individuals with regressive views" etc etc etc ad nauseum. It's no wonder this topic is a lengthy one when that sort of guff begs to be challenged. Add to that that people are quite stirred with emotion when it comes to bit terrorist incidents like London and Manchester and it's no wonder at all that these events and how our society treats them is widely discussed. I'd also be willing to bet that people would have a hell of a lot more to say if stabbers in London were being guided by an extremist ideology and explicitly stated they were stabbing people in the name of their god. If there were Christian rape gangs operating in the North or England and one of the primary reasons cited for their abuse was their faith then there would absolutely be a number of pages talking about it on here and rightly so. 124 pages and we've somehow managed to return to that post-apocalyptic hellhole that is Maidstone. At this point it's rather like a cross between Mad Max and the future world from the Terminator films such is the depravity committed in that town on an hourly basis. #prayforMaidstone.
  3. That's true to an extent but when you have won one game since November, I don't think our fans are overreacting to the threat of relegation.
  4. That's all very honourable but that should have been the position up until about 4 months ago when it became patently obvious that he isn't up to the task. Someone has shown a serious lack of judgement by not firing him in good time and if we go down then that will be the primary cause for me.
  5. Well no because I find rip to be even more of an empty platitude than what I wrote but I'd rather hope that the ones left behind who knew him personally are being supported so they can find the sadness more bearable.
  6. Undoubtedly better. Its why I had some sympathy with those wanting a loss.
  7. I think what's more interesting is how much her majority shrank and how well AFD did. Across Europe there is a move away from traditional left wing pro European parties and a growing number are voicing their dissatisfaction for the EU. It will catch up with them eventually even if the numbers haven't yet translated to electoral success in the main.
  8. You haven't exactly been famed for your foresight. I'm happy with the judgement of my own eyes after watching every game he's been involved in so far. He doesn't do nearly enough to justify his inclusion as the lone striker. We bought him because there were very few or none who were happy to join us.
  9. Doesn't put anything into perspective as I didn't know him and he's just an image and a name on a screen but I'm sure his family would be very sad that he passed away so young so I hope there are people supporting them.
  10. Seen nothing to change this assessment so far.
  11. Nah. If we were 3-0 down to someone like Stoke at home then there would be a load of protests. The problem is we have been awful and unadventurous all season but not inept enough that we have been hammered.
  12. Apathy. The reality is we are at the mercy of the owner and with the insipid performances there hasnt been a hammering bad enough to spout anyone into action. As it stands we are out of the relegation zone with a chance of survival even if its small. Tough to get people up for that.
  13. Stay strong whelk #prayforwhelk
  14. I was going to write that! Haven't the foggiest.

    VAR

Because if its in a world cup final or a playoff final, cheating can be worth hundreds of millions.

    VAR

That's the problem then in that case. It shouldn't be used in matters which are 50/50.

    VAR

So the answer is you are going to ignore them then. All you did was quibble over semantics about Henry and ignored my overall point and the other examples I gave. I think it's really obvious that there are some decisions that aren't debatable and I gave you a couple of examples to illustrate that. Debatable decisions shouldn't use var to decide but travesties of justice like Maradona should absolutely be overturned, particularly when the stakes are so high and so much is riding on it. To have a game decided by blatant cheating is totally wrong and I support measures which would remove that sort of thing from the game.

What abiout the the decisions I highlighted earlier that you have ignored?

    VAR

And the other two decisions? Regardless the Henry goal should jot have stood, it was a clear and obvious decision that no one would give having seen the replay. That's what VAR is for.

    VAR

If someone punches the ball into the goal like docoure or Henry or Maradona then var would be useful to overturn those very obvious wrong decisions. Absolutely no one who watches those replays would have any doubt at all saying they should not have stood.

    VAR

It really isn't subjective. If a clear and obvious error has been committed then use it to rectify them. I'm thinking of Henry in the world cup qualifier for example which was a travesty of justice. If you used it in that way then most games it wouldn't even get used.

    VAR

I meant for things like that Watford player against us. I also said if there is any doubt then it reverts to the referees original decision. It looks to me like the refs are judt calling in var to relinquish responsibility for their decisions at the moment.

    VAR

Yeah I don't think it works well St all in its current form. Should only be for specific decisions such as handball abd if it crossed the line. Any doubt at all and it should go back to the referees initial decision. They need to shown it on screens as well so the crowd know whats going on.
  24. Various Labour initiatives over the last few years clearly indicates that they will do something similar to Canada and prioritise "diversity" and "equality" over the health of the actual economy. Its what always happens when someone is as ideologically possessed as Labour clearly are- most recently when employing a racist as an advisor. In Canada, equality of outcome is prioritised over growth and given the types of people in positions of influence in the Labour Party and some of the things we have seen and heard already, its really likely that they would walk a similar path.
