Certain ex=chairman described him as the most articulate and decent footballer he has ever dealt with

1997, finished 7th in CCC, good season in 2nd tier, with huge support of... .... 8,854 lol. Your support is a joke, why are you coming on here with delusions of grandeur?
-
Think 1982 was season you won the third division (albeit without -10 point start!). Average attendance was 8,500. We are in 3rd division this season, and unlikely to be winning the league, so you wouldn't have thought we would get as big crowds as you would you? Especially as you are bigger club. But hang on, we have sold 9,200 season tickets, will have walk up support and away support. Something doesn't add up???
-
Newcastle 16,000 1990 year they got relegated last time. Saints 24,000 2004 year we got relegated Portsmouth 8,000 in 1997. -just to show they are small club!
-
so apart from the facts that, in the lifetime of all of both of our supporters - and everyone in the game - we have been better supported and more successful and have bigger ground etc you are better cos of your record against corinthians!
-
HR on sky saying still hoping to get price for crouch lower and not agreeing yet- Crouch is turning everyone else down so it looks like skates will lose £6m!
-
http://portsmouth.gumtree.com/portsmouth/39/42032739.html hilarious!
-
Strachen is not in Fergie's league and can't see him getting the job.
-
Lol - did you go to the Man City school of squad building? We neither need, nor will, sign all of those.
-
heard a stat that when they went down last time their crowds were lower than ours have been - not quite the joke support of skates but not quite the image they try to portray!
-
absolutely hilarious - we must go back to before most of us were born - then we will remember they were good!
-
he was really bossing likes lallana around, getting them into position to mark for throw in etc. Looked to be confident and strong character on pitch
-
he did run around today - looked up for it.
-
its only been mentioned, in passing, on Vital football - not the best source of info, even they say if reports are to be believed - without saying where these reports are. Can't remember him, but sounds a good signing - but don't think its a strong rumour.
-
time to move on from all the past off pitch antics - board, fans arguements etc We don't need fans groups, trusts, face book. We need season ticket holders and matchday ticket holders - go, support and enjoy!
-
sounds like Harding is going to be first choice LB - Pardew says his quality is he will perform well every week
-
when I heard that bit thought it summed up last season. Many games we played very well and easily on top for odd 15 mins - but had no idea how to win game
-
Proof will come when the season start but far more confident than I have been in any/all managers since Hoddle and Strachen
-
be good if we could beat last year. I know some bigger clubs went down last year, but 9200, plus small walk up and away support would have put us only behind leeds and Leicester last season. Be great if we could be best supported team in division Leeds 23k Leicester 20k Huddersfield 13k MK 10k Millwall 8k
-
doesn't take long does it?
-
now 9200, last year 9500

I know skates rely on memories of some very old people to justify that they were once a big club, but no-one outside Portsmouth thinks that at all. Hardly been in top flight, don't think you have broken into top half have you? Very very poorly supported. Cup win - which is big success and must have been great day - but not one that stuck with neutrals. My guess would be with neutrals across the country you would struggle to be rated in top 40 teams of recent years. Nothing wrong with that - I accept we are doing crap recently, you should be able to accept the team you support is not particularly big but just enjoy it for what it is. Just look a bit silly with this we would be a big club its just.....
-
lol - don't think you even convince yourself! Lets see how many you get after a few poor games - you won't even fill your little clubhouse.
