I guarantee we will never return to the premiership without spending money!
-
he has never been scoring for fun, averages about 10 a year
-
don't think seen single post saying he isn't good enough for this division,
-
I fear it may get worse first - stopping doing what they were doing but not sure of the new way etc
-
probably career of about 1 in 3 games.
-
I Don't think people are writing him off - but saying its down to him to prove he is the player of a couple of years ago. Certainly didn't look it Saturday - but that's one game, good opposition and before Pardew. We can't write him off, but neither can we carry a top wage earner hoping they find the form from two years ago. in 2004 he got 16 in 35 for Derby. in 2006 he scored 17 by January.

shame Dillon would be excellent signing. No 2 is very important role imho.
-
he only scored about 1 in 3, good but not amazing. I would take that this season, but its about 18 months now since he was scoring, so we can't just hope he returns to form - Pardew will have to judge and try and get him playing.
-
DellDays - did you see him on Saturday?
-
gray hair, not sure how tall but thought he was quite big.
-
no. It is his fault that he couldn't trap a ball on Saturday. If he can find form and score for fun I would love him in the team over a non-scoring worker.
-
does the one with Pardew look like this; http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/readingfc/s/2051797_dillon_refuses_to_rule_out_a_reading_return
-
Trouble is if he doesn't score he doesn't look good. Thought he was quite poor on Saturday, bad first touch, gave the ball away and not looking sharp, however; 1) He was isolated as loan striker and came deep -he's not good at that 2) When he scored loads he didn't look good!

solent, talksport, the quay all reporting takeover confirmed as on target and should complete with 36 hours - FL do not have issue with owner. Hope you are right tho!
-
can you confirm that Dillon is definately taking training with Pardew?
-
not that I doubt him, but just thinking - it would be funny if Pilchards was sat in an office somewhere making all of this up!
-
Dillon has good experience - asst at Reading to Pardew for their promotion to CCC, and then asst to Coppell for their promotion to Prem - would love to see a saints side as fast and organised as that side.
-
Palace's local paper say John is back training with us and they are likely to miss out on him http://www.thisiscroydontoday.co.uk/latestsport/Palace-John-battle/article-1178884-detail/article.html

Saga and Murty started pre-season training late. I'm not convinced fitness is/was a big problem for us - I think we slowed more when things went against us - it was more a confidence/lack of strong character issue. I would be happy with a more confident better organised side - (and more ability as someone else said!)
-
I disagree, he first touch was not very good at all and didn't seem to be thinking as quickly as likes of Lallana and Gillett at times. Having said that - he has never been a player who looks good, he has been a player who scores. He was isolated and had one decent header, if he had scored he would have done ok.
-
confidence was 100 times more of a problem than fitness last year.
-
their league title didn't come cheap
-
He has said himself he is not fit enough and behind the rest of squad in preseason build up.
