  1. nothing substantial, just people wishing for a bigger names I guess. Was on radio yesterday talking at length about his current project, only other thing he spoke about was situation at spurs
  2. timings are strange, wonder if he did suddenly feel "oh **** it". But why not at the beginning of the week -which equally applies to be being asked to resign???
  3. JAN Poortvliet walked out of Saints tonight, after being overwhelmed by fan criticism, but described his time at the club as a “beautiful adventure.” The Dutchman said he had been stunned by the “negativity” from the crowd during last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Doncaster at St Mary’s. Speaking honestly and openly to the Daily Echo after resigning as head coach, the 53-year-old said that loss had been the final straw. Although the reaction from supporters this week has left something of a bitter taste in his mouth, Poortvliet said he had enjoyed the chance to take charge of Saints. “For me, it’s just the end of a beautiful adventure and hopefully in the future for me will come other things,” he said. The club announced shortly after 8pm that Jan Poortvliet had stepped down due to the side’s woeful home form – Saints have won just one of 14 league games at St Mary’s this season. Wotte has now taken over as head coach on a permanent basis and was due to meet the players at the club’s Staplewood training ground at 9am tomorrow. The 48-year-old will meet with the media on Monday and did not wish to say much before then. However, he said: "It is mixed feelings for me. But the club is the most important thing right now. We have to do what’s best for the club, starting today from me."
  4. long interview on radio today with Hoddle, first one of his lads is having a trial somewhere, talked at length about his time at spurs and his current project.
  5. thought you though the end was a long time ago? tbf if you continually predict it one day you will be accurate!
  6. that looks pretty permanent!
  7. bit pointless???
  8. despite what I said above I wouldn't be surprised either way, or maybe they will see if he has a winning start!
  9. Mail often quoted on here as having Lowe as source are stressing its perm!
  10. Daily Mail It will not be a short-term appointment, though, with Saints stressing the experienced 48-year-old is being promoted from his back-seat role to lead the club on a full-time basis.
  11. he was putting money into the club - at the megastore?
  12. timings make me think its come from Jan, dunno why really
  13. no Wotte on the list?
  14. wording normally says temporaily if it is
  15. was a good tennis player, league standard
  16. your logic is exactly why its no for me - it won't guarantee a better manager, quite possibly a worse one so give me the points!
  17. not defending Lowe but personally don't believe this.
  18. certainly don't listen to me -missed the only win!
  19. so in summary -Lowe and Wilde together, everyone else is irrelevant!
  20. or to play well and win?
  21. if suggesting Lowe does team talks I would be very very surprised -remember only direct quote re this from player, was only a few weeks ago, talking about the visit to the training ground by Lowe -an opportunity for players to meet him as most hadn't and said that he popped into changing room to wish players good luck (which other pros since said is the norm)
  22. and the previous thread it was on!
  23. agree. Its Wilde or no change IMHO.
  24. sounds easy!
  25. so about 54% of shares are held by holders with less than 3% stake
