  1. Couldn't agree more. One of the most amusing evenings I've had perusing the mongboard ever.
  2. Pompey could never be the Lannisters as 'the Lannisters always pay their debts'
  3. Durham is a 'media troll' because of what he does, whether he writes or broadcasts positive or negative stuff about Saints is irrelevant. He does the same for other clubs. Puts out contentious opinions about a variety of usually football related stuff with the sole intention of getting the listeners to bite. Seems to have quite a few similarities with the notion of trolling, whether on the internet or through other media.
  4. Radio's answer to a number on here. Man is paid to be a 'media troll' and is actually quite good at it. Thing is, he has an ignore button too. Everyone has the capacity to switch him off like the trolls on here.
  5. Couldn't agree more on all three counts. particularly your first point.
  6. Disappointed with the result. Utterly predictable reaction by the trolls and mongs on the mongboard. Maybe after supporting Saints for half a century I am just used to stuff like this, and maybe it doesn't matter quite so much as it did when I was younger Anyway I'm off to watch the closing kms of Milan San-Remo.
  7. Christ I was a damn sight more down when we were relegated with minus 10 in League 1
  8. Enjoy! Be safe.
  9. As I said in the match reaction Dave I felt for those that travelled, but it was entirely predictable I am afraid, and as such was of little interest to me beyond the point of team selection. Sure I would have liked to have won but if the team are suitably chastened by their poor performance as suggested by the Luke Shaw Twitter feeds and they go and do job on West Ham next week then the world will be back in kilter, or at least the world that revolves around this board. My advice is to get the Bianchi out tomorrow, weather permitting and go and slay a few Strava segments. You know it makes sense!
  10. I'm one of the few who really doesn't give a toss about this. Don't know why, think things have moved on a bit since 1976 and all that. Yes I was there, and it was the greatest footballing day of my life. Time has moved on. The FA Cup just doesn't do it for me anymore. That said I do feel for the hardy souls who went today, but it could have been predicted so it wouldn't have had me gunning up the A1M to watch it. Am I alone in finding some the vitriol, particularly the anti-Pochettino vitriol somewhat distasteful, or is that just a symptom of a mongboard?
  11. Funny people in Hull. According to a work colleague who went to Hull Uni it's the only place where the head of the Roman Catholic Church is known as the Perp!
  12. Locked out of Dell ground record game v Man U. Wouldn't be allowed now on safeguarding grounds. My dad was already inside when the closed the boys turnstile on Archers. I was a few months short of my twelfth birthday. Imagine the headlines that would make today. Different world. Remember trying to peer in through sides of the wooden exit gates. Couldn't see anything.
  13. Christ Turks how come you can remember that far back? I suppose you must have been a lurker then because I'm not sure I remember anyone posting under that moniker. Do recall some T W A T called Stu Romsey Saint from around that time but that's about it.
  14. I agree Faz, He is an attention seeking troll but on a forum such as this I suppose he is entitled to his viewpoint, if for nothing else to preserve the notion of free speech.
  15. Season finale on Saturday. Quite brilliant. Richard Harrow's death sequence so poignant with him appearing before the family he longed for not disfigured. Season 5 will be the last of one of the finest ever TV series though.
  16. Sorry about your knee. At least you have golf. I'm fecking useless at that so I'd be royally screwed if I had to give up the bike.
  17. Thanks Sandwich. If I do it I won't drive myself. Got a friend who lives in Eton Wick who will but doesn't know much about getting anywhere in London other than using public transport hence the question.
  18. Welcome to Strava Sandwich. Most of us will never be on leaderboards or let alone near KOMs, but seeing progress is the motivation. I am so far down on some segments it makes you want to just give up, but a few seconds here and there and you are on the way up. The challenge is to ride for the sake of riding without taking Strava into consideration whilst out on the road. Just a slightly off topic question but thinking of signing up for FT London Cycle Sportive. Starts at Dulwich Park and ends at Herne Hill (Iconic) it's your side of London, easy to get or by car or not? Seems to be in the same 'black hole' as Dellhurst Park.
  19. Happy New Year Sandwich. Here is the link http://app.strava.com/clubs/45350. As soon as I am notified by Strava I will add you. With regards to the max HR conundrum I am trying to do some digging around for my own benefit as I find the whole thing confusing and contradictory too. Will respond later.
  20. Happy New Year Neil. I have added you.
  21. Dr W I can only endorse what VFTT says. Get yourself a Strava account! Join the club! Happy New Year to you and your family.
  22. I've added you Neil. BTW quite a few predominantly MTBs record their off road stuff on Strava as well as road rides and turbo sessions. Here's to good riding for 2014! Happy New Year.
  23. Best place for it now. There is a discussion section on the Strata club thingy I created. Maybe very cycling specific stuff could be posted there.
  24. Now a club of two. I assume that's you VFTT that I've added. I'll set up the chat on it tomorrow.
